The only time in history when two warships of the same class have fought each other was in the Falklands War when the United Kingdom and Argentina came to blows in 1982. The warships in question were from the British Type 42, or Sheffield Class. The Type 42 is a guided missile destroyer designed for the Royal Navy in the 1960s to provide fleet area air-defense. A total of fourteen destroyers were constructed in three batches, with the lengthened Batch Three vessels. This premium edition kit includes many NEW features! This new Premium Edition kit from Dragon contains over three hundred parts including a photoetch fret, and ship name stickers for the display base, if building the full hull version. Although based upon their earlier releases of the Bismarck (kit 7060) and Tirpitz (kit 7047), there are some nice improvements with this new kit. The photo-etch fret included with the kit has added several new items, including radar, and anchors not available the first time around. Dragon has also replaced all of the soft plastic items in the original kits with their standard plastic, but these are slide-molded so that they contain excellent detail. This change in the plastic only affects two sprues, but is a welcome change if you worked with the soft plastic parts in the past. Aside from these items, the kit remains unchanged from the release of five years ago, and can be built as either a waterline, or full hull version of the ship.
