Columbia Road, is a five
colour print (which is
screen printed in our
studio in Stoke
Newington).One layer of
ink is printed using
thermochromatic ink which
is affected by a
temperature rise (ie heat
from radiators/hot water
pipes or strong sunlight)
this allows certain areas
of the design to
temporarily change and
reveal hidden images
throughout the paper then
disappear again as the
paper cools to room
temperature.The design
was born of a concept of
illustrating to the user
the wasted heat energy
rising from household
appliances, from Wall
mounted lights, hot
water pipes and
radiators. We have also
printed this paper in two
alternative colourways
without the
thermochromatic ink.
