Texas, the 1950s. Troubled teenager Jesse Tucker (James Walters) arrives at the Benedict Home for Boys and has his world turned upside-down by hipster teacher Jack Cabe (John Travolta). Cabe introduces Jesse to the new rock 'n' roll sound and encourages him to release some of his pent-up emotion by joining a band.
