Since then it has preserved for posterity a country branch line, its steam locomotives, coaches and goods stock, signalling systems, stations and operating practices. Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway: Known as the friendly line in the Cotswolds, this railway runs along a part of the former Great Western's Railway from Birmingham to Cheltenham, via Stratford-upon-Avon. The line commands wonderful views of the sleepy hamlets and villages, as it runs through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Although the line closed to passengers in 1960, it continued in use as a goods line until 1976.
