The Stuart No. 4 is a most impressive engine. When fitted with a discwheel this engine is capable of running at very high speeds making it especially suited to driving a dynamo. The Stuart No.8 shares many common parts with the Stuart 7A, it is a relatively simple engine to build requiring only a 3 1/2 in. lathe. The Stuart Real is often called an "upside down" vertical engine, however this is not the case as the earliest vertical steam engines were arranged, like this model, with the crankshaft above the cylinder.
