We have designed the model so it can be powered by any of our engines & closely follows the style of oil field pumps working to this day all over the world. The reciprocating action of this model, when driven by an engine, makes for a fascinating centre piece to any steam display. The Oil Field Pump is supplied as a complete set of castings & materials together with precut gears, drawings, fixings & fittings. The Pillar Drill has a rising table operated by a rack & pinion mechanism, in the same way as full sized machines of the period were operated. In a suitable installation a pair of Pintails could be used to power a twin screw boat. As with all our model, the Pintail engine is fully tested before being dispatched. The Stuart Real is often called an "upside down" vertical engine, however this is not the case as the earliest vertical steam engines were arranged, like this model, with the crankshaft above the cylinder.
