The Stuart Major Beam is typical of the smaller industrial engines of the nineteenth century. It is based on a eighth scale model designed by Mr. George Gentry & serialised in Model Engineer magazine throughout 1914. In 1968 modifications were made to the engine by Mr. H. A. The first Stuart No.1 was built by Mr. Stuart Turner over one hundred years ago. It is a classic design, & so beautifully proportioned, that it makes the perfect display model.
