Details: A beautifully detailed, long lasting, handmade pewter pin badge of the VR Science & Art pillar box, at a scale of 1:60. With a secure 'clutch and pin' fastening, this pin badge is perfect for attaching to your hat or lapels. History: This colourful pillar box was produced in 1857. Designed by the Department of Science and Art, the box was adopted in London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Dublin. At 4ft tall, this highly ornate design was around a foot shorter than earlier models. An economy version without the ornate decoration was produced for outside the major cities. 50 Science & Art boxes were made, three of which survive, two in the British Postal Museum, plus one of the economy version at the Kent Railway Station, Cork. Ideal for: A wonderful gift and collectable
item, for those over the age of 14 years. Measures: 2cm
