
Ontario Back Road Atlas from the Canadian Cartographics Corporation in an A4-size, spiral-bound format covering the southern parts of the province

- on GPS-compatible mapping at 1:250, 000, with additional maps at 1:2, 000, 000 for the remaining parts of Ontario, plus street plans, etc. In the main section of the atlas with mapping at 1:250, 000, detailed road classification indicates unpaved or unimproved roads & seasonal routes. Road & interchange numbers are clearly marked & local roads are shown with names. Intermediate driving distances are marked on main & selected local routes. Railway lines are included. A wide range of symbols indicate various facilities & places of interest, including campgrounds & camping terrain, recreational areas, tourist information centres, etc. Landscape is presented by relief shading, with names of numerous lakes & other topographic features. National parks & other protected areas are highlighted. The maps have a 10km UTM grid. Extensive index lists communities, road names, points of interest, golf courses; plus sugar bush directory listing facilities where maple syrup can be bought. The region north & west of Sault Ste. Marie & Thunder Bay is shown at 1:2, 000, 000. Other additional features include town centre street plans of main cities annotated with car parks, places of interest, etc; access maps for the regions’ main airports (Toronto Pearson, Ottawa Mc Donald-Cartier, Hamilton Munro, Detroit Metropolitan & Buffalo/ Niagara); a table showing what facilities are available in the provincial parks; a month-by month list of local events & festivals; plus a comprehensive distance table.
