Product Description

An adjustable 3-terminal negative voltage regulator capable of supplying 1.5A over a range of 1.2V to 37V. It is exceptionally easy to use & requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage. Besides having a higher performance compared with fixed regulators the LM337 offers full overload protection with current limiting thermal overload protection & safe area protection. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected. The adjustment terminal can be bypassed with a capacitor to ground to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios that are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal regulators. Output voltage is set by connecting a twin resistor divider between output & circuit ground & connecting the adjustment pin to the junction. A precision current regulator can also be made by connecting a fixed resistor only between the adjustment & output pins & connecting the load to the adjustment pin.
