A positive voltage regulator that can source 1A of output current with a dropout voltage of typically 0.5V & a maximum of 1V over the entire temperature range. A quiescent current reduction circuit has been included which reduces the ground current when the differential between the input voltage & the output voltage exceeds Approx. 3V. The quiescent current with 1A of output current & an input-output differential of 5V is therefore only 3m A. Higher quiescent currents only exists when the regulator is in the dropout mode VIN

An adjustable 3-terminal negative voltage regulator capable of supplying 1.5A over a range of 1.2V to 37V. It is exceptionally easy to use & requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage. Besides having a higher performance compared with fixed regulators the LM337 offers full overload protection with current limiting thermal overload protection & safe area protection. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected. The adjustment terminal can be bypassed with a capacitor to ground to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios that are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal regulators.
