A generous Sangiovese, the nose is elegantly floral with rich black cherry notes that follow through on to the smooth palate. Our 2010 Estate Sangiovese has an attractive ruby-red colour, with a nose that shows pleasing notes of cherries & figs. The juicy palate is lush & opulent with a solid structure, a level of acidity that is very nicely balanced by its firm yet sweet tannins, & a pleasing finish. The grapes for our 2010 Estate Sangiovese were h&-picked, destemmed, crushed, & inoculated with selected yeasts to allow fermentation at 24C-28C. The new wine remained on its skins for 10 to 20 days, depending on the development of the individual lots, for maximum extraction of the ripe fruit flavours. The wine was aged in French & American oak barrels for Approx. 8 months, which helped round out the flavours & contributed to a sweet mouthfeel.
