Macallan 18 Year Old Fine Oak Single Malt Whisky - 70cl 43%

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999. Originally, The Macallan was matured only in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez, Spain. Beginning in 2004, The Macallan introduced a new main product, the Fine Oak series, with the whisky mellowed in bourbon oak casks as well as sherry ones. Nose: Heady exotic floral aroma, with hints of jasmine, tropical fruits and peat. Honey drizzle with a touch of roast hazelnut and dried fruit. Palate: Soft and rich, with hints of citrus, spice and wood smoke. A sweet toffee and chocolate orange contrasted with a spicy hit of fresh ginger.
Finish: Lingering, with hints of orange zest and oak. Earthy- dried grass.
