Glenmorangie Ealanta Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the fourth annual release in the Glenmorangie Private Edition range. Gaelic for 'skilled & ingenious', Ealanta is 19 years old & has been fully matured in virgin American white oak casks from the mountains of Missouri & the Mark Twain National Forest. The porous oak wood, air-dried for over 2 years, but in this instance never seasoned with any other whisky, allows the spirit to extract maximum flavours as nature intended
- producing a whisky of incredible taste & smoothness, with layers of vanilla & candied orange peel, interwoven with sugar coated almonds. Toffee, butterscotch, vanilla & stewed fruit flavours combine with a classic Glenmorangie mentholic top-note, interwoven with an unusual nuttiness, reminiscent of Brazil nuts in toffee. Jim Murray gave the whisky a 97.5/100, naming it the best whisky of 2014. Glenmorangies stills are famed for producing a light, fruity & almost zesty spirit, & this characteristic is turned up in this release. Nose: Sweet Citrus, plenty of orange zest. Palate: Candied orange, tropical fruit, a touch of vanilla, & an all-pervading sweetness that leaves you in absolutely no doubt about the fact that this has come from fresh oak Finish: The fruit begins to fade, & gives way to a familiar high-note of dried figs. The taste goes on & on, finally giving way to some oak-derived spices
- clove, ginger & a hint of aniseed.

Glenmorangies 'A Midwinter Night's dram' is said to have been inspired by the long held tradition where The Sixteen Men of Tain (those who worked at the distillery year round) were treated with a special whisky in the festive season created by the Master Distiller as a thank you for their role in the creation of Glenmorangie. This gift was shared by the Men of Tain with friends & family from St Andrews Day to Christmas to Burns Night. This is the original batch from 2015. Nose: Notes of orange marmalade, toffee, walnuts & mulled wine; tones of wine-soaked fruit, Christmas cake & a distinct whiff of musk or incense. Palate: A rich, warming, peppery texture leading into myriad flavors of chocolate orange, ginger, walnuts, praline & some sweet butter candy. Finish: A soft, medium strength, creamy finish, with further notes of malt biscuit & plump raisins. ...

While crafting Glenmorangie Artein Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Head of Distilling & Whisky Creation, was intrigued by the influence of stone in the natural ingredients of the whisky, especially considering the material's special significance to the br&. This relationship begins with the Hilton of Cadboll Stone, an ancient monument that is the whisky's inspiration. Nose: Sweetness dominates, maple syrup & thick cream. Sweet fruits, apricots & peaches. A subtle spice, with hints of oak. Palate: The sweetness from the nose shines through, spice is slightly more prominent. Notes of dry wood & cloves. Distinctive sweet fruits, peach & red apples. Finish: Long, the sweetness is overridden by the spice. ...

The Glenmorangie Astar (Scots Gaelic for “journey”), a single malt entirely matured in bespoke oak casks, which were designed to deliver perfection in the final spirit. The Astar’s extraordinary casks are hewn from h&-selected slow-grown oak trees from the Ozark mountains of Missouri. Although the silken depths of its first release delighted connoisseurs, such casks are so rare that it has taken years to orchestrate its renaissance. In 2017, The Astar’s triumphant, limited-edition return brings a newfound richness & complexity to this smooth, creamy & long celebrated single malt. (last one left in stock

Palate: mooth & creamy on the palate, as sumptuously sweet crème-brûlée emerges with tropical fruits, apricots & vanilla custard, hazelnuts in soft buttery fudge, then clove, toasted oak & a hint of cooling menthol. Released in early 2017, Glenmorangie's Bacalta is the first expression from the distillery which has been finished in sun-baked Malmsey Madeira casks. Dr. Bill Lumsden had bespoke American oak casks made & heavily toasted, then seasoned with Malmsey wine & left to bake in the heat of Madeira's sun. The casks were emptied & shipped to Scotland to finish the Glenmorangie whisky, which had been matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Nose: Succulent apricots ripened in Madeiras island sun emerge from fragrant, honeyed aromas. A curiously flinty note gives way to beguiling hints of white chocolate. Palate: Complex layers of honeycomb follow an initial burst of mint toffee. Almonds come forth to mingle with dates, caramelised oranges & more apricots. Finish: Creamy fudge emerges in the long, syrupy aftertaste, alongside caramelised citrus & pears. All are played out against an intriguing mentholic backdrop... ...
