The Glenfiddich Age of Discovery range was released just to the travel retail market until 2012 when the 19 year Old Madeira Cask was released to the UK retail market to great excitement & applause. However this meant that Glenfiddich needed a new Age of Discovery bottling to replace the excellent Madeira cask, so here we have it - the Bourbon cask a fantastic follow-up that delivers as strongly as its predecessor. Winner of several awards - this is a great dram! Nose: Toffee & vanilla, followed by a fruity cocktail of apples & spiced orange. Palate: Caramel & vanilla. A touch of water adds nutmeg & cardamom notes Finish: Long with apple tart & warm spicy flavours. ...
Glenfiddich 21 Year Old, finished in rum casks for around four months to add extra layers of sweetness & complexity. 22 year old single cask Glenfiddich single malt? Music to our ears, those words. This one was distilled back in 1992, back when their stills were lit by coal fires rather than gas (as they are now). A phenomenal release from the renowned distillery in Speyside, & very limited too - only 200 bottles were produced, presented at 56.3% ABV. NOSE: Citrus, lemon, honey PALATE: Spicy, liquorice, apple FINISH: long, oak, plum, still citrus & spice. Phenomenally satisfying & well worth the price. ...
