The name for Glenfiddich's Caoran derives from the Gaelic for ' Peat Ember', reflecting the special character of this single malt. Its inspiration comes from times past & the pioneering ways of the Glenfiddich malt men who in the days of coal shortages used greater amounts of peat to dry the malted barley. The resulting earthy smokiness perfectly compliments the fruit notes so characteristic of Glenfiddich Single Malt. Glenfiddich Caoran Reserve was awarded gold medals in 2005 & 2006. Distilled & Matured at Glenfiddich Distillery, Speyside, Scotl&. Nose: all the typical Glenfiddich aromas with a subtle smokiness. Taste: The taste is spicy & develops into a combination of sweet fruit with distinctive peaty notes. Finish: A smooth & lingering finish. ...

Glenfiddich 19 Year Old Age Of Discovery Bourbon - 70cl 40%

The Glenfiddich Age of Discovery range was released just to the travel retail market until 2012 when the 19 year Old Madeira Cask was released to the UK retail market to great excitement and applause. However this meant that Glenfiddich needed a new Age of Discovery bottling to replace the excellent Madeira cask, so here we have it - the Bourbon cask a fantastic follow-up that delivers as strongly as its predecessor. Winner of several awards - this is a great dram! Nose: Toffee and vanilla, followed by a fruity cocktail of apples and spiced orange. Palate: Caramel and vanilla. A touch of water adds nutmeg and cardamom notes Finish: Long with apple tart and warm spicy flavours.
