Isle of SKye has been extra matured in oak casks for 12 long years. It contains an exceptionally high proportion of distinctive Island and mellow Speyside malts which, after blending, are returned to cask to ‘marry’ prior to bottling. Nose: Heavy smoke, a pinch of salt and spice. Dried fruits drizzled in honey. Palate: Sweet dried fruits, figs and raisins. Followed by peat and oak. Finish: Medium-long, slight sweetnes, peated smoke.
Girvan Grain no.4 apps gets its name from a pioneering new still installed in 1992, named ‘no.4 apps’ – a distillery term for ‘apparatus.’ This unique still, operated under a vacuum, permits distillation at low temperatures. Delivering a pure, vibrant and fruity single grain spirit, ripe for maturation in our vanillin rich American Oak. This unique single grain whisky is distilled from two multi-pressure stills – No.4 and No.5 Apps. Nose: Earthy, freshly cut grass and baked apples. Notes of white chocolate and vanilla. Palate: Sweet and smooth, honey and rich dark chocolate. Followed by sharp citrus fruits and a kick of spice. Finish: Short, sweetness and malt.
