Introduction to Marketing Management Course
Marketing has a key functional role as the only part of the organisation which has proactive contact with customers; it is the bridge to the customer and the consumer. This is the aspect of marketing which most people recognise, and which can be thought to be marketing's sole role. But unless marketers take an active part at corporate level it is unlikely that the organisation as a whole will have a customer focus. A major role for marketing management is therefore to encourage and reinforce a marketing orientation that permeates every sector of the organisation.
At corporate level any organisation has a relationship with its environment - the need to manage this relationship should be obvious, but unfortunately this realisation only came to many British firms in the take-over battles of the 1970s when they found that although their brands might be well known the organisation itself was not. Corporate managers quickly came to realise the need to use marketing's core skills to market the organisation as well as its products.
After participating in this course, you should be able to:
determine the role and effectiveness of marketing in given circumstances
identify the key stages in the corporate planning process
establish management objectives
use key marketing terms correctly

Magnetism can be generated by any living creature and summoned by the inventive genius of man. Almost every human being is endowed with the same power of self-generating the kind of magnetism that brings life to the body and increases life in others.

Principles of Remuneration Course
The current term used to describe the payment arrangements for people at work is reward, and this is associated closely with the idea of linking payment to performance. This, in turn, is inextricably linked with the idea of Human Resource Management that has the potential to transform the people management processes in and around organisations.
In this course, we investigate the strategic approach to reward, job evaluation and performance pay.
Environmental Improvements Course

Marketing Communications Course
Is marketing communications essentially just to do with sales and profits and activities such as advertising? Certainly, you learn in this course that sales and profits, together with the tools and techniques of advertising, are important considerations and tools of marketing communications.
Virtually all organisations at some time need effective marketing communications. This need cuts across different types of organisations from profit seekers to not-for-profit organisations, across different types of situations and problem areas such as the need, say, to minimise adverse publicity through to the need to increase public donations. And it encompasses the relatively small local company through to the major multi-nationals operating on a global basis.
Effective marketing communications has become even more important to organisations, but at the same time, more complex and difficult to plan.

Hot Stone Massage Training Course
The concept of massage therapy using stones has been used in many different cultures for many years.Tribal Healers and Village wise women used rocks from the river beds and warmed them either in hot coals or hot water. By placing the hot stones on cloth on the body and arranging them along the energy points of the body, this would help to relax the muscles and reduce pain or discomfort, and therefore support the healing process.
The placing of the stones is often followed by a holistic massage which proves to result in a deeper and more intense treatment as the heat penetrates the body and relaxes the muscles and the cold stones stimulate the neural pathways and circulatory system.
This 10 lesson hot stone massage course shows the student the history of hot stone massage to the modern day development and use of hot stone massage techniques and associated therapies. The course focuses upon practical massage therapy techniques that can be learned and practised by the student, either as a stand alone therapy in its own right or as part of a practicing holistic therapist’s repertoire of effective techniques.
The course shows the student how hot stone techniques can be incorporated into holistic therapeutic practice which will be of great value to practitioners of both the body working therapies and also of pure holistic treatments.
Who should take this course?
The course is completely stand alone and is aimed at students who wish to obtain competence and experience in a practical hands-on therapy.
No previous experience is required as the course covers the appropriate basics, but students of holistic massage will find that this course adds another dimension to their treatments.Practitioners of other therapies will find the course very useful as it adds another popular treatment technique to their existing practise.
This course includes “hands on” based practical training. The first part of the course is the distance learning theory element which is completed in your own time and done entirely from the comfort of your own home. Business Economics Professional Course
What is economics about? Economics is the problem of using the available resources as efficiently as possible so as to achieve the maximum fulfilment of society's unlimited demand for goods and services. The ultimate purpose of economic endeavour is to satisfy human wants for goods and services.
The problem is that whereas wants are virtually without limit, the resources - natural resources, labour and capital (machinery) - available at any one time to produce goods and services are limited in supply. Resources are scarce. This fact of scarcity means that we must always be making choices about what to produce, how to produce it and for whom.
Decisions must be made so that these scarce resources are allocated optimally or efficiently to their end use. This implies they could not be used more beneficially elsewhere. This is the criterion economists use to judge many economic phenomenon and is the focus of our study of the economic approaches to organisations.

Conservation Course
Man is creating an urban environment where so many goods are being concentrated that consumer desire, comparable to predatory instinct, is being over stimulated.
From the moment a child can hear a radio or watch a television, this instinct is being stimulated and exploited by loud, noisy radio and television advertisements and garish neon signs and posters. These adverts do not merely beg person to buy, they aim to convince people that they need these things and cannot possibly live without them. This is the outcome of mass production that must find avenues to sell the goods. True, these methods create employment, but the fact remains, they are using up the earth's animal and mineral resources at an alarming rate.
About Conservation
Conservation is the wise use of the earth's resources, so that they can support, or sustain, the generations yet to come. This can be done in many ways and in different situations.
Relaxation Therapy Course
No human being can function without stimulation and challenges, and stress and stressful situations very often produce this challenge. It provides the excitement, impetus and motivation but unfortunately, also the distress and anxiety. If we have the ability to get ready for action, our bodies also have the built-in ability to relax.
Through the parasympathetic nervous system and quieting of the endocrine system, this ability is the body's natural tendency to restore to homeostasis. The continued, fast-paced lifestyle very often keeps the stress-response activated. These people are then physically, mentally and emotionally unable to relax and are in need of therapy. Relaxation Therapy techniques are useful skills which can be used to fight the stress demon of our times.
Transactional Analysis Course
Eric Berne, the originator of T.A., isolated and defined a basic unit of social intercourse - a transaction. If two or more people encounter each other, sooner or later one of them will speak or acknowledge the presence of the others - a transactional stimulus.
Another will then say or do something which is in some way related to that stimulus - a transactional response. In this course the student is given the opportunity to study and examine this transaction - "I do something and you do something back" - and learn how to determine which part of the multi-natured individual is being activated.
Business and the Environment Course
In 1990 the concept of the environmental management system (EMS) was new to many organisations. However, it has subsequently developed very rapidly, becoming the subject of a number of international standards and schemes. The first national environmental management standard, BS7750, was published in 1992 and the European Union (or Community as it was then called) adopted the same basic approach in 1993 with the introduction of its Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). An international standard, ISO 14001, replaced BS 7750 in 1996. In this course we look at how these standards and schemes have developed, the differences between them, and what benefits an organisation can expect to gain from adopting a recognised EMS.
While neither ISO 14001 nor EMAS prescribe the level of environmental performance to be achieved, they do require a commitment to continual improvement. The extent of this improvement is for the individual organisation to decide and should be quantified in objectives and targets where practicable. At first glance, continual improvement may appear to be a particularly onerous commitment, but it is vital if the environmental management system is to be seen as credible by interested parties. This course looks at the importance and benefits of continual improvement, how it can be achieved, and how some of the barriers to its achievement can be overcome.
Any organisation undertaking a programme of continual improvement needs not only to establish procedures for its work processes but also to regard all procedures, and the processes to which they relate, as being capable of improvement. This course focuses on what is involved in improving work procedures and processes in order to reduce the environmental impacts of your organisation.
A sudden environmental crisis - such as a large fire, explosion, release of toxic gas or major water pollution incident - is probably the most feared occurrence by individuals with responsibility for an organisation's environmental performance. However, slow-acting pollution incidents can create a crisis that damages not only the environment but also the organisation, both financially and in terms of its reputation - and the reputation of its products - among the public.
Emergency planning is required to deal with any incident that could result in loss of life, ill health or damage to the environment.

Biology A Level
About A Levels
A levels are subject-specific qualifications normally studied after GCSEs or International GCSEs, though they are appropriate at any age to gain a qualification in a subject in which you are interested.
The qualification is made up of two levels: the AS level and the A2 level. The AS level is the first half of a full A level and is a qualification on its own. The A2 level builds on the knowledge gained from both the AS level, as well as the GCSE level. Both the AS and A2 levels and examinations must be successfully completed to gain a full A level.
Students usually take 1 year to complete the AS and a further year to complete the A2 - so a full A level usually takes two years. This fast track A level, however, lets you complete the course in half the time (i.e. one year instead of two years). The fast track A level works in exactly the same way and you get the same certificate as you would on the two-year course.
A levels are highly valued by schools, colleges and employers. They are at level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework and they carry UCAS points, which will be awarded according to the grade achieved (A = 120, B = 100, C = 80).
Many courses at university or college will require you to take A levels in certain subjects. We recommend you check the requirements for those courses and take the appropriate subject A levels.
About Our A Level Biology Course
This course is made up of the AS level and the A2 level. It is based on two approaches:
1) The concept-led approach includes study of the laws, theories and models of biology, exploring the practical application of these in both knowledge and with reference to everyday life.
2) The context-led approach considers applications of biological knowledge and looks at the underpinning concepts.
This course offers both approaches in combination. This mixed approach is more appropriate for distance learning students as there is a need for flexibility. The assessment criteria and structure is the same for both approaches. After each topic there will be a tutor marked assignment, which can be emailed to your tutor as an attachment in Word, Works or RTF format. You will be sent a welcome letter by your tutor, as soon as you make contact, which will outline assignment submission in more detail.
There is a project element to both the AS award and A2 award which expect distance learning students to reflect on practical biological knowledge as well as theoretical. The AS project will be based upon a field visit; the A2 project upon an individual experiment. Neither requires students to have laboratory access.
Your AS project will be marked and moderated by an independent coursework marker at the centre where you sit your examinations. There may be a fee for the marking. All distance learning students should download the Private Candidates Handbook from Edexcel's website which gives you guidance on finding an examination centre and registering. International students need to download the specific handbook for them, which will give alternative examination arrangements and other details.
Your A2 project will be marked externally and moderated by Edexcel.
The whole course is based on assessment objectives and combines a number of learning outcome expectations. The assessment objective weightings for the AS award are as follows:
AO1
Knowledge and understanding of science and of How Science Works
30-34%
AO2
Application of knowledge and understanding of AO3 science and of How Science Works
34-40%
AO3
How Science Works
28%
Total
100%
The assessment objective weightings for the A2 award are as follows:
AO1
Knowledge and understanding of science and of How Science Works
26-30%
AO2
Application of knowledge and understanding of AO3 science and of How Science Works
42-48%
AO3

Nature and Role of Marketing Analysis
The analysis of the market is an important part of any overall evaluation or implementation of a marketing strategy. The techniques employed by analysts can be used to assess the correct marketing mix, changing market structures, support or reject hypotheses that have been proposed and forecasting or estimating market potential, to name but a few. This course looks at the differences within data, the range of data that can be encountered in marketing analysis and some of the main techniques used in the evaluation of such data.
A marketing analyst makes use of a wide selection of techniques from the quantitative methods in order to explain the market, forecast elements of the market and support management and corporate decision making.
The course will examine techniques from the quantitative methods which find widest use in the analysis of markets, such as hypothesis testing, which can be used to examine data and statistics from samples with a view to supporting or rejecting assumptions about the market population. Regression and correlation will be examined as techniques that can be employed to assess the existence and strength of relationships within a market and also their use as a possible forecasting tool. Finally, an introduction will be made to a range of multivariate techniques, which have found widest use in marketing analysis in the analysis of data from questionnaires. It is quite common to link the multivariate methods to enrich analyses. The section covering these methods will make use of a case study to demonstrate this.
Modern approaches to analysis make wide use of questionnaires to obtain primary data and computer software to analyse data. The first section of this course will therefore introduce different types of data and the approaches to coding data for analysis. By the end of this course you should be able to:
Section 1
Explain the use and application of variables.
Distinguish between the different principal types of variables.
Explain and identify four categories of data measurement.
Understand the procedures for coding data.
Distinguish between the methods of summarising data using location and dispersion measures.
Section 2
Calculate a standard Z score.
Set up a confidence interval with known parameters.
Appreciate what is meant by an hypothesis and understand the difference between a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis.
Undertake an hypothesis test and appreciate the importance of significance in hypothesis testing.
Undertake a chi-square test on two-dimensional data (hypothesis on non- parametric data).
Section 3
Understand the nature of bivariate data and straight-line relationships.
Measure the strength of linear relationships between variables using coefficients of correlation and determination.
Determine a least squares regression equation and line.
Estimate and forecast future data values using technique of interpolation and extrapolation.
Be familiar with one approach to the analysis of a time series set of data.
Section 4
Explain the concept of multivariate analysis in marketing.
Describe the application and use of a range of multivariate methods as individual techniques.

Franchising is neither an industry nor a business. It is a practical concept for the effective distribution of profits and/or services. Recently this way of doing business has become increasingly popular.

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to franchising - especially those who are considering investing in a franchise business opportunity.

Accounting Course
Accounting is designed to help those with an interest in a business, or other organisation, to assess its financial position and performance. It aims to communicate relevant economic information to interested parties and, as a result, improve the quality of decisions that are made.
Unless accounting achieves this purpose, it would really be a waste of effort to provide the information. In this course we consider the major financial statements that are produced by businesses on a regular basis to help in the decision making process. These financial statements are designed to provide an overview of the business's financial health and are widely used by managers, owners, suppliers, customers and others.
About Accounting Course
We consider the main principles underpinning these statements as well as their strengths and weaknesses. In addition. We consider how these statements can be analysed in order to come to some conclusions about the financial health of a business.
This accouting course requires no previous knowledge of accounting or finance.
Marketing Course
Marketing is concerned with identifying and satisfying customers' and consumers' needs. Its aim is to ensure that the business is able to anticipate changes in these needs, and to gain and retain customers efficiently and profitably.
Although marketing is concerned with satisfying these needs, its scope goes far beyond the process of selling goods and services. Indeed, to be truly effective, the marketing process needs to be present throughout the entire business process, building on a broad understanding of the markets which the business serves, designing into the product or service the characteristics which consumers and customers will find attractive and ensuring that the entire business adopts policies and strategies that cater for their needs.
About our Marketing Course
Marketing is sometimes presented as a discrete, specialised function or as a set of techniques. But as this marketing course will make clear, a more appropriate understanding of marketing only emerges when it is viewed as a business philosophy or as a principle around which the business can be organised and managed.

Art of Combining Photography and Painting Course
This course is primarily for people who want to extend their creative horizons. Even those who have no painting skills and have little knowledge of photography can learn this craft. It does not, however, preclude those who already possess photography or painting skills. Imagination and ingenuity are the chief requisites for creating beautiful images - images that use techniques described in unpretentious prose along with easy to follow diagrams and instructions.
Throughout, no sophisticated photographic equipment is required. Like any craft, whether a person can use these skills professionally is dependent upon the prowess of the artist. The course describes how to create beautiful miniatures and portraits as well images both surreal and abstract.
Through art one learns the meaning of life. (Ernst Kris, psychoanalyst.)
