
Mount Elbrus
- Upper Baksan Valley at 1:50, 000 on a detailed contoured map from EWP, with on the reverse extensive notes about the area including lists of routes to local summit, etc, plus a general road map of the region. The map shows two summits Elbrus in its north-western corner & is centered on the Elbrus village in the Baksan Valley. Contours are at 50m intervals, with additional graphics for moraine, scree, cliffs & gullies. Paths, mountain routes, ski-tour routes & heli-skitour routes are clearly shown & so are mountain rescue posts, alpine camps & tourist bases. The map has latitude & longitude lines at intervals of 5’ & 1’ respectively. All place names are only in Latin alphabet.
