The sleek 21st Century Hitachi Class 395 high-speed commuter trains are due to come into service on the South Eastern network in late 2009. Based upon Hitachis successful 'A Train' technology, they are designed to travel the local lines in Kent reaching their optimum speed of 225 km/h on the new CTRL line into London. The aim of the trains will be to drastically reduce the average commuter time from stations on the Kent coast including Folkestone & Ramsgate into London, St. Pancras.
