Vampirella Premium Format Statue - Sideshow Collectibles proudly presents the Vampirella Premium Format figure, a stunning representation of the vampire huntress. Cast in heavyweight polystone and dressed in real fabric clothing, each piece is individually handcrafted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail - the trademark of a Sideshow Collectibles product. Capturing the raven-haired vamp in 1:4 scale, the Vampirella Premium Format figure is a stunning addition to any collection.
Born within the flaming pits of Hell, Vampirella is the heroic, raven-haired vampire whose mission in life, or perhaps undeath, is to destroy the evil vampires that roam the earth, atoning for her mother"s sins.
Cast out of Eden for her willfulness, Adam"s first wife Lilith found asylum in Hell where she mated with demons, spawning vampires who in turn sought to vengefully destroy the earthly offspring of Adam and Eve. When Lilith finally sought redemption, she gave birth to Vampirella, whom she sent to Earth to atone for her mistakes and eradicate the world of evil vampires.
With superhuman strength, speed, and ferocity, Vampirella can shapeshift into a bat and mesmerize humans with her intense stare. Unlike many of her vampire brethren, she has no weakness to daylight, holy water, garlic, or religious icons, but her greatest power lies in her iconic beauty and irresistible sensuality.

Like other small cars the Nova was used widely in the Unit Beat Panda car role, a system of policing pioneered in 1965 which continues to this day and allows Police to cover much wider areas during a single shift. Although some forces used Nova saloons, most used the Nova in its more versatile hatchback form, as modelled here.

Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR in Jamaica Yellow (1:43 scale) - From 1983 until the GTE’s launch in 1988 the SR was the quickest Nova in the range and featured stiffer suspension, 3-spoke alloy wheels, sports seats, a 5-speed gearbox and a new 1.3-litre OHC engine. It was a quick, attractive, and economical proposition when launched at just £4, 975 and stacked up well against competition such as the MG Metro which cost a similar amount but only had a 4-speed gearbox. The Nova, especially in insurance friendly 1.3SR form, became the cult car of the 1990"s Max Power movement and this, combined with their popularity in various forms of amateur motorsport, has made them surprisingly rare today.

Vickers Valiant B MkI (RAF XD829) (1:144 scale) - Entering RAF service in 1955, the Valiant was originally developed for use as high-level strategic bomber. However, by 1963 its role, like the other V bombers, was changed to lowlevel tactical operations.
An appropriate grey/green camouflage scheme was introduced in 1964. B MK.1 XD829 was one of very few Valiants to be finished in this tactical camouflage scheme before fatigue cracks, brought on by low-level flights, caused the rapid grounding of the fleet.
With the Victor and Vulcan performing well, the cost of refurbishing the Valiant fleet was considered too high and in early 1965 they were retired from service. XD829 was broken up as scrap at Marham in March 1965.
Vickers Valiant B MkI XD818 (RAF Operation Grapple) (1:144 scale) - Operation Grapple was the code name given to the British Hydrogen bomb tests carried out over the Pacific Ocean during 1957. Christmas Island was chosen as the operational base with the island of Malden, 400 miles south-east, designated as the target area. No. 49 Sqn, RAF Wittering was selected for the tests and a specially modified Vickers Valiant, XD818, arrived in November 1956.
The aircraft had strengthened control surfaces, additional cameras and sensors and metal anti-flash window screens. Piloted by Wg Cdr Kenneth Hubbard, at 09:00 hours on May 15th 1957, Valiant XD818 took off carrying Britain’s first thermo-nuclear ‘H’ bomb, code named ‘Grapple 1’. Released at 10:36 hours from an altitude of 45000ft and detonated at 8000ft, the shock wave from the 0.3 megaton device was felt by the crew some 2.5 minutes after the blast. Wg Cdr Hubbard observed the mushroom cloud before landing back on Christmas Island at 11:20 hours.
In recognition of their skill and professionalism, the crew of Valiant XD818 each received the Air Force Cross.
Vickers VC-10 (RAF 101 Sqn Brize Norton) (1:144 scale) - In 1978, the RAF had five ex-BOAC VC10s and four ex-East African Airways Super VC10s converted to air-to-air refuelling tankers. These were known in service as the VC-10 K2 and VC-10 K3 respectively. Both variants had underwing refuelling pods, and a centreline refuelling point installed in the rear freight bay. An in-flight refuelling probe was fitted on the nose, allowing fuel to be taken from other tankers.
In 1981, with the retirement of the British Airways Super VC10 fleet, the RAF obtained 14 ex-British Airways machines, for use as spares hulks and for possible future conversions. The VC10 tankers were in fact so useful that the RAF decided to obtain more of them, awarding contracts in 1990 to Flight Refuelling to update all 13 surviving VC10 C.1 transports to VC10 C.1K/Type 1180 transport-tanker configuration, and to BAE to update five of the spare Super VC10s to VC10 K.4/Type 1170 standard.
The VC10 C.1K conversions were relatively minimal, being fitted with Flight Refuelling Mark 32 HDUs (Hose Drogue Units) and appropriate control systems, but no centreline HDU and no fuselage fuel tanks, enabling the aircraft to retain their full transport capability. The initial flight of the first VC10 C.1K was on 11th June 1992 and the survivors of the fleet still serve today with No.101 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.
Vickers VC-10 (RAF 101 Sqn) (1:144 scale) - The bulk of the RAF"s air-to-air refuelling fleet comprises VC10 K3 and K4 aircraft flown by No 101 Squadron based at RAF Brize Norton.ZA140/A was the first VC-10 tanker to enter RAF service on 25th July 1983 as a K.Mk.2. Together with the Victor tanker, it was invaluable during the 1991 Gulf War and the number of refuelling sorties it carried out are recorded on the starboard side of the nose. In 2001 the VC10 K2 made it"s last flight as a tanker. The five K2s were the oldest airframes in the fleet, and in recent years some of these airframes had already been temporarily stored when not in need. Since then all the K2s have been ferried to RAF St. Athan where they have been "reduced to spares", a colloquial term for the scrapping process that will reduce a once lovely airliner to a pile of scrap metal.
Vickers VC-10 Falklands Casevac Flights (RAF 10 Sqn) (1:144 scale) - Fourteen VC10 C1s were delivered to 10 Squadron between 1966 and 1967. The C1 was a variant of the civil "Standard VC-10" fitted with the wing and more powerful engines of the "Super VC-10".
The C1 can carry 139 passengers in rear facing seats, eight standard pallets or up to 78 medical evacuation stretchers.
The strengthened floor allowed the C1 to transport 1, 000lb bombs for the Tornado GR1 force during the Gulf War, each aircraft carrying 50 per flight. During the war, 10 Sqn flew 1, 326 sorties in over 5, 000 hours. The squadron also took part in most other operations involving British forces, including the 1982 Falklands War and the 2003 war in Iraq.

1842 Sqn was formed in February 1944 and shipped to the USA to train on Corsairs. When training was completed the squadron returned to the UK and embarked in HMS Formidable. In August 1944 along with Indefatigable, Furious, Nabob and Trumpeter, Formidable and 1842 Sqn took part in Operation Goodwood, a series of four attacks upon the German Battleship Tirpitz.
Tirpitz, which was moored in a Norwegian Fjord, posed a serious threat to convoys sailing from the UK to Russia and had already been attacked on a number of occasions. During the Goodwood attacks the Corsairs attacked flak positions and JT590 received serious damage to the starboard elevator but returned to the carrier and landed safely.
