When Jones first launched the Hovercraft it was really aimed at riders who were looking for more of a powder-focused quiver board. However it didn't take long for people to realise that there was a whole lot more going on with this board than they expected. Not only was it outstanding in the powder its performance on piste was something of a revelation, kick starting that whole freecarving/pow weird shape revolution.

The key to the Hovercraft's startling performance both in the powder & on piste is down to its revolutionary shape. This combines a longer powder-focused nose to give lift & float at the front, with a short powerful tail to give drive & power out the back. For this season, Jones has also added their revolutionary spooned nose & tail profile. This creates a 7mm 3D spooned bevel in the nose & a 4 mm spooned bevel in the tail. This innovative design works on multiple levels, the most obvious of these is that it helps lift the nose & sink the tail making the Hovercraft almost effortless in the deep stuff. But equally as important, it lets the board roll into & out of the turn giving really fluid edge-to-edge transitions, making this just one of the very best piste riding boards out there.

Next add the directional rocker profile which combines a longer rocker in the nose with a powerful setback camber under the feet & short rocker zone at the tail; & not only do you get the perfect amount of float, but combine it with mellow Magne Traction edges, & you also get a powerful & responsive feel when blasting the piste.

Internally Jones has continuously updated the construction of Hovercraft, stepping up its performance year on year. Built around a poplar core with bamboo laminate top sheep, the Hovercraft delivers a lively feel but with a smoother overall ride. Now one of the things that surprise most people about the Hovercraft is its Bi-Ax glass structural layers. These create a softer overall flex, but it's this easy-going feel that makes Hovercraft such a blast to ride & which will ensure that you'll be riding this a whole lot more than you originally thought.

Finally the sintered 7000 base gives great guide in pre-much all conditions.
