The Hybrid FK profile combines camber, flat & rocker sections. The result is a board that is stable when it’s on an edge, turns with ease & is suitable for all terrains & all abilities. With some high-end additives & an upgraded base for this season, the Birds of a Feather packs enough of a freestyle punch to satisfy the hard charging of Women’s Rider of the Year Jess Kimura. Specification: Profile: Hybrid FK Setback: 0 Flex: Medium Length CM Effective Edge MM Waist Width MM Rider Weightkg 146 1155 235 38-61 148 1171 238 43-66 150 1187 241 48-71 NOTE: BASE GRAPHIC COLOURS ARE SIZE SPECIFIC

Features:
The Hybrid FK Profile uses reverse, zero & positive camber in a true twin shape. There is positive camber in the middle (starting 5cm outside the inserts), zero camber outside of this & a small reverse camber section at the contact points. Utilising all these profiles in this way provides the pop & stability of a camber profile with the forgiveness & easy turn initiation of reverse camber. Flat Kick is the shape given to the profile of the nose & tail. Most boards have a gradual curve from the contact points to the tip/tail. Capita found that while that works well with a traditional camber profile, it does not work so well with the raised contact points of a reverse camber profile. Flat Kick essentially adds responsiveness & speed to edge-to-edge turning. Made with a single species of poplar grain the RFC Sustainable Core extends from edge to edge & tip to tail. The wood grain has no knots or finger joints either which helps ensure a completely uniform flex pattern throughout the board. In addition they have been re-forestation certified offering a sustainable alternative without sacrificing on performance. Kevlar is one of the stronge

The Black Snowboard of Death has been completely redesigned for 2013/14 with the development of the new Mountain FK profile leading the charge. The main change here from last year (Freeride FK profile) is a zero camber section replacing the reverse camber section at the tail. The result is increased edge contact through the tail of the board & greater pop. Add the new superlight Hover Core & Pre-cured Carbon Fibre Boosters & you have the ultimate all terrain weapon.  Specification: Profile: Mountain FK (Reverse, positive, zero) Running length: 1219mm Waist

Width:
25.60cm Sidecut radius: 7.90 Setback: 0.5 inches Flex (1 soft, 10 stiff): 6 (Specification based on the 159cm board) Note: Base graphic colours may vary

Features:
The Mountain FK profile utilises three different profiles in one board. Reverse camber at the nose, positive camber underfoot (starting 5cm outside inserts) & zero camber in the tail. The result is tons of pop & stability on the hard pack with increased float in powder. Designed specifically for The Black Snowboard of Death, the new Hover Core is a combination of FCS certified wood strips & flax fibre composite webbing. The result is an extremely light & strong core with excellent dampening qualities. In fact it is so light that it will feel like you are hovering. A large number of boards that feature rocker or flat zones in their profile add carbon to increase the pop lost by not having a full camber shape. In the BSOD capita have put 4 x 30mm Pre-Cured Carbon Fibre Boosters which run from just behind the binding insets out to the widest part of the nose & tail. These are Pre-cured into an arched shape which adds twice the ollie power & response to regular carbon additives. A Full ABS Sidewall provides optimum edge hold & pop right through to the tip & tail of the board. Sintered bases absorb the highest amount of wax which provides extended periods of high speed riding. The Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Speed Base is used on the top end of the Capita range ensuring you go faster for longer. Rather than applying resin by hand in the manufacturing process, Capita use a mechanized dispensing system to ensure a consistent application & eliminate the chance of dry spots which can lead to de-lamination. In addition they apply fibreglass to the top & bottom of the core to reduce the risk of water damage. Custom Weave increases the performance of the resin & fibreglass which allows for a decrease in the thickness of the wood core. The result is reduced weight without the loss of performance.   I have to start off by saying that this is possibly THE most fun snowboard I have ever ridden. What I was most surprised about is how well this board catered for my jibbing, buttering, carving, side-hit, switch riding tomfoolery. I have to admit that I usually sway away from directional boards except when powder riding is looking p

The C. Slasher works really well all over the resort but really comes into its own in powder. The rocker nose, flat base & 20mm tapered tail cause the tail to sink & allows the nose to float naturally, transforming tiring powder days into the most memorable ones you’ve ever had. Specification: Profile: POW FK (Nose rocker then flat to tail) Setback: 25mm Flex: Medium Length CM Effective Edge MM Waist Width MM Rider Weightkg 158 1200 256 59-84 161 1233 258 63.5-91 NOTE: DIE CUT BASE GRAPHICS COME IN TWO VARIATIONS (BLUE ON BLACK & BLACK ON BLUE) THEY ARE SUPPLIED AT RANDOM

Features:
The Pow FK Profile features a reverse camber section through the nose to keep your board floating above the snow line.  The zero camber (flat) section running through the middle & tail of the board retains power for slashing & stomping landings. Capita have added an ABS sidewall to the centre of a pull poplar core to create the Touring Core + ABS.  This addition would allow you to split the board down the middle, turning it into a touring splitboard, without risking water damage to the core. Custom Weave Fiberglass Configuration increases the performance of the resin & fibreglass which allows for a decrease in the thickness of the wood core. The result is reduced weight without the loss of performance. Running through the board from the tip of the nose to just past the front inserts are 2x 30mm Carbon Fibre Beams. The Defenders of Awesome has quickly become one of the favourites in the Capita line up. Sintered bases absorb the highest amount of wax which provides extended periods of high speed riding. The Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Speed Base is used on the top end of the Capita range ensuring you go faster for longer. Freestyle boards that have a camber hybrid profile & a mid flex are just as suited to cruising the resort, holding an edge on steep & hard slopes as they are to pressing out slides on rails, so you don’t have to be the next Dan Brisse to ride one. I’m a big fan of boards with camber underfoot because it makes the board so much livelier. The DOA with its relatively low camber & flat (zero camber) sections outside of it is incredibly forgiving, but it’s still quick when you want to set an edge & nice & stable throughout the turn. This board won’t fail to put a smile on your face. Is it for me? It’s suited to so many riders that the answer is probably yes. Whether you are a one week a year with the lads’ type of snowboarder, a devoted park rider, an intermediate to expert all-mountain kind of guy or are looking for a first board that you won’t grow out of then yeah, it’s the one.

Are all these rocker, reverse, zero camber profiles getting confusing? Wouldn’t it be refreshing is someone just made a Normal Ass Snowboard? Well the NAS is exactly that. With camber findings its way back into most snowboard ranges in one form or another it’s refreshing to be able to buy a new board that offers all of the benefits of simple, traditional camber. Unmatched power, stability & pop Specification: Profile: Traditional camber Running length: 1245 Waist

Width:
24.90 Sidecut radius: 8.50 – 7.90 Setback: 0.5 inches Flex (1 soft, 10 stiff): 7 (Specification based on the 159cm board)

Features:
Traditional Camber provides the ultimate in pop & high speed stability. This tried & tested profile increases the amount of the snowboards edge that is in contact with the snow & provides more power through to your nose & tail. Kevlar is one of the strongest & most durable materials available & carbon remains one of the most responsive & lightweight. The combined use of Kevlar & carbon in the 2x 20mm Carbon + Kevlar Beams that run from just before the nose to just before the tail provides the optimum in performance & reliability. Special Blend EVO Tech Fibreglass Configuration is a more environmentally friendly manufacturing process that requires less energy consumption & yields higher technical properties. To improve durability in key break zones Black Fleece is used. This black glass increases strength & reduces the chance of board failure. Sintered bases absorb the highest amount of wax which provides extended periods of high speed riding. The Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Speed Base is used on the top end of the Capita range ensuring you go faster for longer.   Like lots of people, I learnt to snowboard on a camber snowboard. I appreciate all of the new profiles that are now on the market but I will always have a camber board in my collection. There is nothing more suitable for super quick edge changes & sold carved turns on corduroy piste. That’s the reason the NAS was one of the first boards on our order form. Is it for me? It’s ideal if you feel a little unsatisfied after switching to a rocker or hybrid profile & want it to be the way it used to be. Also a great choice if you are looking for a board that provides excellent edge hold & is capable of out & out charging.

This durable & responsive true twin freestyle board has become increasingly popular with the Capita team riders. The new XXX (truded) base is harder & therefore more resilient than standard extruded bases & the zero camber profile makes it easy to ride whilst remaining poppy & dependable. Specification: Profile: Zero camber Running length: 1166 Waist

Width:
25.00 Sidecut radius: 8.00 Setback: Centred Flex (1 soft, 10 stiff): 5 (Specification based on the 156cm board)

Features:
Zero Camber is flat from contact point to contact point. The result is a longer effective edge than that of a rocker profile but with a looser feel than you get from camber. Vertically laminated strips of poplar wood make up the SS Select Core. There are no irregularities in the grain or finger joints which allows for a consistent & uniform flex throughout the board. Kevlar is one of the strongest & most durable materials available & carbon remains one of the most responsive & lightweight. The combined use of Kevlar & carbon in the 2x 20mm Carbon + Kevlar X which is positioned in the middle of the board in an X shape improves underfoot stability whilst allowing for a forgiving flex in the nose & tail. To improve durability in key break zones Black Fleece is used. This black glass increases strength & reduces the chance of board failure. Extruded bases are both durable & easy to maintain which is ideal if you aren’t one for waxing your board regularly. The XXX (truded) Base is subjected to higher temperatures & more pressure during manufacture than regular extruded bases which further increases the surface hardness.   I think it’s impossible not to have a good time riding this board. Come to think of it I haven’t ridden a zero camber board that I didn’t like. What I like about boards like the Outdoor Living is that the entire edge & contacts points are ready to engage the moment you want them to but are super forgiving if you get your balance wrong on landing or mid butter. Is it for me? Not only is it ideal for the park rats out there who want to slide, bonk, jump & spin everything that stands in their way, but the Outdoor Living would make an ideal board for the improving snowboarder that wants a confidence inspiring board that turns easily at slow speeds & is virtually catch free.
