This year K2 have looked back over this 50 years of history & drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis.  By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. The highest performance hard snow ski in the Super Model series, the Super Burnin’ is made for progressed & advanced women who want to make carving turns even in the firmest & steepest runs.  The ski’s pinpoint precision can be attributed to its narrow waist & Speed Rocker profile, making it an ideal carving tool for the fast piste skiing. The short turning radius still keeps it under easy control & allows short & long turns too. A firm favourite with ski test team member Nikki.   Ski

Specification Geometry:  121mm / 72mm / 106mm Turn Radius: 12 metres at 160cm Terrain: Piste Orientated Core

Material:
Aspen/ Paulownia/ Bamboo Woodcore Camber/ Rocker: All Terrain Rocker Technology: Hybritech sidewall, Metal Laminate, Bio Flex 3 Core, MOD technology. Bindings: Marker K2/ERS 11.0   Ski Features Speed Rocker (10% tip rocker): Designed for high performance precision & agility on firm snow.  This slightly elevated tip & increased tip length provides effortless initiation & flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power & edge-hold. Metal Laminate: K2 women’s metal laminate skis are built with a thinner strip of titanal than men’s skis.  Proportional to lighter weight women’s skiers, the thinner layer offers overall weight reduction while still providing expert level skiers the benefits of performance & dampening, consistent with metal laminate construction. Hybritech Sidewalls:  Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall & cap constructions.  The construction combines the accuracy, power & performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics & smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Bio Flex core: All K2 women’s skis use a combination of Aspen, Paulownia & Bamboo stringer in a unique core known as Bio Flex.  A strong Aspen core underfoot is fused with lightweight Paulownia towards the tip & tail to reduce swing-weight.  In 2012/13 K2 continued to develop three variations of the Bio Flex core specifically tuned to a target performance. This ski contains Bioflex 3:  80% Aspen & 20% Paulownia -  Increased performance, strength & durability. Marker K2/ERS System: The lightweight Marker K2/ERS (Energy Response System) is used exclusively on the Super Models skis.  The integrated hubs are closer together from toe to heel to accommodate a smaller boot sole & maintain smooth flexing of the ski.  The women’s specific binding features a Triple-Pivot comfort Toe & Twin Cam 2 heel.  The K2/ERS is a full pound lighter than the previous system. A stunning ski for the advanced skier; with its 70’s disco looks you will certainly be ‘staying alive’ if you take these onto the mountain. There has been much ‘whisper whisper’ regarding these & many skiers who have tested these have found that they have started a ‘chain reaction’ & have remained with the K2 brand year on year. The K2 Superburnin is even better than ever with the addition of ROX Technology to help dampen the ski & add control, whilst lightening the whole ski. A precise carving performer designed specifically for ladies who want to etch perfect turns into the firmest & steepest runs at resort with ease. For 2014 the Superburnin has had an overhaul to make what was already a best seller even better. The key feature is ROX Technology & this ski features SPEED ROX. FEATURES & BENEFITS Rox Design
- The Rox design can clearly be seen at the tip & the tail of the ski, & it acts to dampen the nose & tail, whilst giving progressive torsional stiffness. It also acts to support the rocker of the ski, & each ski length has a modified ROX design to get the best from the given ski length. Carbon Webs
- Carbon web runs through the ROX system which absorbs trail buzz keeping the nose super stable as you lay down fast turns & don’t have to worry about nose chatter. Bio Flex 3 Full Wood Core – Underneath there is a women’s specific Bioflex wood core, with 3 densities of wood at the nose, the centre, & tail of the ski, to give the perfect blend of rebound, performance & light weight. Speed Rocker – 90% Traditional Camber with a 10% tip rocker for a stable nose & smooth turns with maximum & fastest edge engagement K2/ Marker ERC System
- The all-new K2/ Marker women’s-specific ERC (Energy Response Contact) binding system is our widest ski binding system, with a 54% wider attachment. Thanks to zinc feet that extend toward the edges of the ski, the ERC system delivers greater precision & control on the wider-waisted Super skis. In addition to being wider, the binding stand height has been reduced by 12%, adding almost 10% in weight savings.

Specification Sidecut:  115mm-74mm-107mm Radius: 13.0 Metres (For 160cm length) Base Profile: Speed Rocker Ski Core: Bioflex 3 Wood Core Bindings: Marker ERC 11TC Women’s Specific Bindings with integrated fitting IS IT FOR ME? This is the perfect ski for the more aggressive female skier who wants the ultimate carving machine! Agile, fast & balanced. A fantastic ski, I have skied & owned various K2 Superburnin across 5 years now, & this I must say is the biggest change yet. The Superburnin was always targeted at expert piste skiers who want speed. However, it was perfectly adept under the feet of good intermediates too, looking to advance. This has now changed though, & this ski clearly suits an advanced & expert skier now who can already carve, & wants to get maximum speed & edge hold. This ski demands more input than previously, but put that effort in & it delivers amazingly fast turns. A beautifully balanced performance ski, & still a favourite for me although I now have to work a bit harder :o)

The  Super Burnin will set your skiing on fire, not your legs.  This advanced to expert women’s hard snow carving tool provides precision turning & edge hold on firm snow. Supplied with Salomon Z10 ski bindings.   Its narrow design and  Speed Rocker ensures accurate, high performance transitions between turns & will result in quicker hot laps & flawless tracks. A firm favourite with the Edge & Wax ski test team every season. FEATURES Core:   All of the K2 women’s skis use a combination of Aspen,   Paulownia and Bamboo in a unique core known as  Bio Flex, a process where a dense Aspen core underfoot is fused with lightweight  Paulownia at the tip & tail to reduce swing-weight.  K2 developed this technology specifically for women; lightweight & easy to manoeuvre, yet sturdy & offering high-performance.  This has the  Bioflex 3 core which is 80% Aspen & 20%  Paulownia.  This means increased performance, strength & durability. Metal Laminate: K2 women’s metal laminate skis are built with a thinner strip of titanal than men’s skis.  Proportional to lighter weight women skiers, the thinner layer offers overall weight reduction while still proving expert-level skiers the benefits of performance & dampening, consistent with metal laminate construction. Mod Technology:  high-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations & impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold & a higher degree of power & control.  Mod is a secondary core that flexes & moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.  The optimum location & thickness of mass differs from men to women.  The aesthetic look of the Mod shape has also been customised with a svelte & more stylised appearance that graphically ties into the design of the skis. Mod  Monic:  A Focused Mass  Dampener; The  Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at the targeted location.  Although the location for this targeted mass dampening is consistent between the men’s & Women’s models, the amount of focused mass is reduced in the women’s version.  The women’s Mod  Monic is designed to accent the overall look without sacrificing function. Speed Rocker:  Designed for firm snow. This slightly elevated tip & increased tip length provides effortless initiation & flawless transitions between turns, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers the mist precision, power & edge-hold of any rocker category.
