This year K2 have looked back over this 50 years of history & drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis. By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. The highest performance hard snow ski in the Super Model series, the Super Burnin’ is made for progressed & advanced women who want to make carving turns even in the firmest & steepest runs. The ski’s pinpoint precision can be attributed to its narrow waist & Speed Rocker profile, making it an ideal carving tool for the fast piste skiing. The short turning radius still keeps it under easy control & allows short & long turns too. A firm favourite with ski test team member Nikki. Ski
Specification Geometry: 121mm / 72mm / 106mm Turn Radius: 12 metres at 160cm Terrain: Piste Orientated Core
Material: Aspen/ Paulownia/ Bamboo Woodcore Camber/ Rocker: All Terrain Rocker Technology: Hybritech sidewall, Metal Laminate, Bio Flex 3 Core, MOD technology. Bindings: Marker K2/ERS 11.0 Ski Features Speed Rocker (10% tip rocker): Designed for high performance precision & agility on firm snow. This slightly elevated tip & increased tip length provides effortless initiation & flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power & edge-hold. Metal Laminate: K2 women’s metal laminate skis are built with a thinner strip of titanal than men’s skis. Proportional to lighter weight women’s skiers, the thinner layer offers overall weight reduction while still providing expert level skiers the benefits of performance & dampening, consistent with metal laminate construction. Hybritech Sidewalls: Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall & cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power & performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics & smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Bio Flex core: All K2 women’s skis use a combination of Aspen, Paulownia & Bamboo stringer in a unique core known as Bio Flex. A strong Aspen core underfoot is fused with lightweight Paulownia towards the tip & tail to reduce swing-weight. In 2012/13 K2 continued to develop three variations of the Bio Flex core specifically tuned to a target performance. This ski contains Bioflex 3: 80% Aspen & 20% Paulownia - Increased performance, strength & durability. Marker K2/ERS System: The lightweight Marker K2/ERS (Energy Response System) is used exclusively on the Super Models skis. The integrated hubs are closer together from toe to heel to accommodate a smaller boot sole & maintain smooth flexing of the ski. The women’s specific binding features a Triple-Pivot comfort Toe & Twin Cam 2 heel. The K2/ERS is a full pound lighter than the previous system. A stunning ski for the advanced skier; with its 70’s disco looks you will certainly be ‘staying alive’ if you take these onto the mountain. There has been much ‘whisper whisper’ regarding these & many skiers who have tested these have found that they have started a ‘chain reaction’ & have remained with the K2 brand year on year.
