This year K2 have looked back over this 50 years of history and drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis. By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. Built with a forgiving flex and lightweight construction, the Superific makes graceful turns through varied conditions a walk in the park for women of all ages. construction Bindings: Marker K2/ER3 10.0 Ski Features All Terrain Rocker (30% tip rocker): Designed for all ability levels with added versatility and ease in all snow conditions. All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions. Triaxial Braiding: Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex and torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy in both expert and
entry level skis. BioFlex core: All K2 women’s skis use a combination of Aspen, Paulownia and Bamboo stringer in a unique core known as BioFlex. A strong Aspen core underfoot is fused with lightweight Paulownia towards the tip and tail to reduce swing-weight. In 2012/13 K2 continued to develop three variations of the BioFlex core specifically tuned to a target performance. This ski contains Bioflex1: 60% aspen and 40% Paulownia - Reduced swing weight with added forgiveness. MOD Monic: The Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location. MOD technology: The optimum location and thickness of mass differs from men to women. The aesthetic look of the Mod shape has also been customized with a svelte and more
stylized appearance that graphically ties into the design of the skis Women’s-specific MOD Monic: Although the location for this targeted mass dampening is consistent between the men’s and women’s models, the amount of focused mass is reduced in our women’s version. The women’s Mod Monic is designed to accent the overall look without sacrificing function Marker K2/ER3 System: The Marker ER3 (energy Response System) is designed for advanced and recreational skiers alike. The ER3 is also shorter and less stiff than the men’s system, allowing the ski flex to be smoother and reducing the weight by more than a half pound. This system utilizes a new 20% lighter compact toe and a fixed Compact2 heel design to generate more power, precision and quickness underfoot. Cap
