One of the greatest vineyards of the Meursault appellation, as noted by Thomas Jefferson. Produced using traditional methods, Buisson-Battault's wines are first-class examples of Burgundy's hedonistic & opulent character, & the exceptional quality of the vineyard. An archetypal White Burgundy exhibiting nutty, spicy & ripe stone fruits with a powerful, rich, weighty palate of spicy stone fruit, elegantly balanced with fresh acidity with prolonged length. Gouttes d' Or translates as ' Drops of Gold', & this can certainly age for ten years. Excellent with truffles, or soft cheeses. ...

The Premier Cru vineyard Les Poruzots is an 11.43 hectare site producing rich & fruity wines that tend to be more intense than subtle & elegant. Buisson-Battault produce a very typical style from this vineyard, marrying oak & fruit in a powerful fusion. Opulent, rich & buttery with mineral overtones, this is everything a Premier Cru Meursault should be. A long, toasty finish & plenty of stone fruit provide a complex, warming finish. Rich enough to stand up to the most potent of cheeses, this wine will also work well with a variety of game, poultry & fish recipes. ...

Domaine Boyer-Martenot is a family-run property, utilising traditional methods of production. One of Meursault’s rising stars, their philosophy is that great wine is made in the vineyard rather than the winery. Immediately mineral, but with a mouthfilling honeyed citrus character, hints of cinnamon spice & a long finish. A fine expression of both the terroir & the excellent vintage. ...

Musky, highly complex aromas of lemon, lime & hazelnut. Sweet on entry, then impressively tensile in the middle palate, offering superb intensity to its citrus, spice & mineral flavors. This tactile, penetrating wine builds impressively toward the back end & finishes with outstanding lift & persistence. Rigorous, almost painful, wine, but wonderfully rich for chardonnay with barely 13% alcohol. These vines are in the upper portion of Charmes, next to the top of Puligny-Montrachet Combettes. 91-94 points. Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar ...

Restrained aromatics precede a broad, texturally soft core of fruit balanced by taut minerality to produce a wine of harmony & length. Jean-Marcs wines have lovely poise, richness & depth of fruit combined with the firmness, harmony & balance of classic Chassagne. ...

Pierre Moreys 2006 Meursault Perrieres offers a striking combination of creaminess with clarity & minerality. Narcissus & toasted nuts in the nose lead to a palate where stony austerity is allied to rich nut oils & to a savory, saliva-inducing expression of minerality, & where an ingratiating generosity of pit fruits combines with citric brightness for a convincing sense of vivacity that carries into a long finish. This should be worth cellaring for at least 6-8 years. Robert Parkers The Wine Advocate, 92 points ...

Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 2002, Darviot-Perrin

Darviot-Perrin makes some of the most interesting and appealing Meursault in any vintage and this is testament to their skill and style. Somewhat exotic on the nose, it is full-bodied on the palate with fresh bread and roasted nut characters balancing out opulent fruit. On the finish, the smokiness one expects from great Meursault comes through, alongside a balancing and refreshing minerality. Wonderful.
