Musky, highly complex aromas of lemon, lime & hazelnut. Sweet on entry, then impressively tensile in the middle palate, offering superb intensity to its citrus, spice & mineral flavors. This tactile, penetrating wine builds impressively toward the back end & finishes with outstanding lift & persistence. Rigorous, almost painful, wine, but wonderfully rich for chardonnay with barely 13% alcohol. These vines are in the upper portion of Charmes, next to the top of Puligny-Montrachet Combettes. 91-94 points. Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar ...

On the finish, the smokiness one expects from great Meursault comes through, alongside a balancing & refreshing minerality. Wonderful. ...

Pierre Moreys 2006 Meursault Perrieres offers a striking combination of creaminess with clarity & minerality. Narcissus & toasted nuts in the nose lead to a palate where stony austerity is allied to rich nut oils & to a savory, saliva-inducing expression of minerality, & where an ingratiating generosity of pit fruits combines with citric brightness for a convincing sense of vivacity that carries into a long finish. This should be worth cellaring for at least 6-8 years. Robert Parkers The Wine Advocate, 92 points ...
