A very nationalistic blend of pinot noir fruit from some of the best red growing regions in the country. The majority of the fruit was machine harvested, after which the fruit was fermented in a combination of traditional hand plunged open vats & larger potter tanks. Maturation was then carried out in predominantly French oak casks for 12 months prior to bottling Lots of varietal cherry & strawberry aromas with complexing forest floor undertones. A soft but generously flavoured style with sweet aromas of berries & mushroom. The palate is long & concentrated with rich sweet fruit, subtle savoury oak support & smooth tannins. An ideal accompaniment to red meat, game dishes, tomato based pasta & semi-soft cheeses.
