The traditional Tempranillo variety is the basis of Coronas, ennobled with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Coronas has been & continues to be a silent testimony to our history. The Torres family decided to make this wine more than 100 years ago, combining the varietals of Tempranillo & Cabernet Sauvignon. Today its quality is recognised in more than 120 countries across the world. Coronas is unmistakable for its intense colour & lush aromas of cherry & black plums on a background of green coffee. A rose wine, made from a combination of two traditional grape varieties: Garnacha & Carinena. 40 years have passed since we first made this wine with its own unique personality. It was Miguel Torres Carbo who, striving to make a strongly coloured rose with fruity aromas, experimented with the Garnacha Tinta & Carinena grape varietals, achieving a rose that stood out from the rest & has continued to do so down through the years. This wine is characterised by its freshness & notes of red berries (redcurrant) accompanied by notes of apple & banana. On the palate it's very balanced & lush, with a long, persistent aftertaste. Perfect with traditional tapas & charcuterie, as well as vegetable dishes & pasta. Serve chilled (10deg C). ...

Thats why more than twenty years ago, we chose the privileged surroundings of Fransola, a historical estate located in one of the highest areas of the Penedes, to plant one of our most highly renowned vineyards. Ice cold nights & mild days provide an excellent climate for growing vines, giving us the best Sauvignon Blanc & Parellada grapes with which we produce this elegant, balanced wine. Intense, complex aroma of exotic fruit (passion fruit & green fig), delicately ennobled by fine notes of toast & vanilla (from the ageing in new French oak). Good balance in the mouth thanks to the wines acidity, with floral notes that pleasantly linger mid-palate. Serve at 8-10deg C. Ideal with the very best fish & shellfish; also with light poultry dishes, asparagus, & lobster. Properly cellared this wine will improve over the next 3

Torres, who planted the French variety of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Penedes at the end of the 1960s & early 1970s, when normal practice was to plant local white varieties. Thanks to this, Gran Coronas has become a benchmark for reserva red wines. The rich, sensual aroma is typical of the grape varieties recalling small red & black berries (cherries & blackcurrants), green coffee beans, liquorice & the characteristic vanilla & leather notes from ageing. On the palate the wine is full & silky with dense, well-structured tannins.
