The name Santa Digna was given to the crosses marking the district boundaries of a l&. These crosses served to delimit territories & symbolised good fortune & protection for those who were leaving for other climes. Since arriving in Chile in 1979, the Torres Family have been enthralled by its majestic landscapes & vineyards. Nowhere else in the world are vines grown in such a magical setting: between the cold Pacific Ocean, the mysterious southern forests, the burning desert & the eternal snows of the Andes Mountain glaciers. Stone crosses called Santa Digna separated these landscapes from arable l&, symbolizing fortune & prosperity. Made exclusively from Caberne Sauvignon, whose fruit is small, thickskinned & with a slightly musky flavour. It yields well-structured wines with an exotic & delicate elegance. A fresh, pale gold colour, with a blend of aromas reminiscent of ripe, tropical fruits, over underlying hints of apple & fennel. Silky on the palate with a good acid structure & prolonged finish. Can be taken as an aperitif, or with fish, baked, broiled or served in mild sauces. Best served at 10deg C.
