This is the second release in the Devil's Cask series from Bowmore, a 10 Year Old matured exclusively & uniquely in first fill sherry casks. Ruby red & full-bodied, rich sweet sherry & characteristic peat combine. This release sold out even faster than the first batch when the 6000 bottles were released in October 2014. Nose: Sweet maple syrup & then the smell of the sea, fresh seawater & iodine. Palate: Intense & full bodied. Dark, sweet berries & tangy apple. Bowmore released this small batch of whisky's in 2013 inspired by the ever popular Devil's Cask range. This was much awaited & has a strong sherry taste, very similar to the original series. This small batch release of 10 year old Bowmore Devil's Cask was matured in first fill sherry casks. Released in October 2013, all 6000 bottles quickly sold out & remains a highly sought after bottle. The legendary peated spirit combines with luscious sweet sherry for a fantastic dram. Nose: Fairly faint hint of peat. Strong sherry mixed with herbs & medicine. A bit of chocolatey note. Water pushes the peat further into the background (but not out of the picture entirely) & accentuates the cherry cough drop notes. Taste: Very mellow. Sweet & smoke. Finish: Smoky. Herbal cough medicine flavoured with artificial cherry. Smoke & peat are most prominent here. With water the smoke becomes a bit drier. ...
