12 Year Old Glendronach selected for the Professional Danish Whisky Retailers, the liquid has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The bottle is nicknamed Yoda due to the box colour. One of only 3000 bottles. Nose: Marzipan, ground almonds, & almost herbal with a touch of fennel. Very warming nutmeg. Orange marmalade. Dried apricots. Citrus notes quite zesty, almost. Mixed peel. All feels unusual (not bad, just different) for a Glen Dronach. Palate: A very nice viscous texture. Almonds. Blood oranges. Sultanas. Turkish delight, though not as sweet. Sultanas. Blackberries. Elderberries. Just veering to the acidic with lingering grapefruit & woody note on the finish. Finish: Long woody finish. Its particularly good for the autumn/winter months, & an excellent dram to accompany salty fish or even cheddar. There is definitely a place for this on your shelf. ...

A gorgeous dram for those looking for something rich & a little surprising. Whisky region: Highland Nose: Coffee beans, sponge cake drenched in sherry, mint leaf, slightly buttery, sultana. Palate: Rich, thick & packed with juicy-but-dried fruit – rum-soaked raisins, prunes & a touch of chopped date. Nutmeg & cinnamon sit underneath along with sticks of black liquorice. It's more savoury than the nose suggests, focusing on fruit cake & bitter dark chocolate. Finish: Damp leaves & a hint of mint. Raisins & dates linger. ...

Glendronach 10 Year Old Luke Skywalker Danish Exclusive Whisky

This is the third Glendronach bottle in the unofficial Star Wars trilogy: Luke Skywalker. The Professional Danish Whisky Retailers ordered 3, 000 bottles of this 10 years old exclusively for the Danish market. In 1826 the exuberant and extroverted James Allardice founded the distillery and produced his 'Guid GlenDronach' single malt. There was a period where the distillery was mothballed between 1996 and 2002. However in 2008, nothing less than a complete renaissance began. The BenRiach Distillery Company became GlenDronach's proud new owner. Nose: caramel, roasted coffee beans (a little bitter!), freshly sawed plands and dark fruit. Hazelnuts and roasted almonds. Palate: very sweet and soft on the spices. A little bit of pepper and a pinch of nutmeg, but far from piquant. The fruit
shines through but mid-palate it gets a bitter note from the wood. Finish: wonderfully long and spicy and dry.
