The map covers the Tannochside area, south-east of Glasgow. Coverage stretches from Calderbraes eastward to Tannochside New Buildings, & southward to Kylepark. Features include Birkenshaw, Aitkenhead, Bredisholm Colliery Pit 2, Thorniewood, Tannochside Colliery Pit 3, Thornwood House, & the northern part of Uddingston around Brooklands Avenue & Uddingston West station. On the reverse is a directory of private residents in Uddingston in 1911. About the Alan Godfrey Editions of the 25” OS Series: Selected towns in Great Britain & Ireland are covered by maps showing the extent of urban development in the last decades of the 19th & early 20th century.
