ST Model Blaze Glider ARTF 2.4G A-STM100A Never before has so much thought been lavished on an foam glider. The basic shell is crisply moulded in the established ST method of tough, EPO foam, but that is only part of the story. Hidden underneath that sleek exterior is a clever design that adds immense strength combined with design features that make assembly easy & accurate. The nose section is re-enforced with carbon strips along the inside & the motor nose area, which in turn is moulded in tough polythene & bonded over its entire circumference to the internal foam. Even the back edge has been designed not to create a stress edge & spread the load in an impact. The canopy is injection moulded in tinted plastic with strengthening ribs & an integral catch to add further structural rigidity. There is a built in towing release that is securely mounted to the plastic nose section for aerotowing from flat fields, making the Blaze far more than just a slope soarer. A servo to operate the release is also provided & installed. Moving back into the wing mounting area, there is a combination of wooden formers & injection moulded plastic parts that are integrated & bonded into the foam. The rear former acts as an orientation mount for the square carbon tube inside the rear fuselage. That provides immense strength to the fuselage. The wing mounting bolt fixings are inserted steel inserts not just tapped into the plastic. At the rear, another clever, internal plastic mount orientates the tail assembly by using the fuselage tube & outer shell to provide a unique method of mounting both V-tails & their servos. The wing is a work of art! Three internal carbon spars (one a super-strong, square tube) are all bonded in internally & provide unbelievable strength to what is just a foam wing. Once again, the wing joining method is designed not to have a stress fulcrum & be both simple & effective. Just four screws will have it assembled in five minutes! Individual aileron servos provide the power to perform full aerobatics & the ailerons themselves are re-inforced with carbon strips to stop flexing. The anti spill airflow straighteners at the aileron ends keep the aileron response effective at all speeds. This version of the Blaze glider comes with ST Models own 2.4g Hz radio system (Mode II). This radio is easy to use, has a great feel to it, thanks to the soft external case & frees you from the worries of frequency control. Although a 4 channel system for the Blaze, the receiver is a 6 channel unit that could be used in other models at a later date. If you fancy something that is truely unique & stylish then the ST Models DG1000 could be the model for you. Based on the classic DG1000 glider, this gorgeous model is accurately moulded in impact resistant EPO foam, even those sexy wing tips! The wings are removable for easy transport by just releasing one screw & are re-inforced with carbon tube to ensure rigidity & strength. The aileron servos are pre-installed, as are the servo extension leads & each aileron hinge is formed by the EPO foam for best efficiency. ST Model Discovery ARTF Trainer A-STM110 The ST model Discovery is all about learning to fly radio control model aircraft for the very first time. The Discovery has been totally designed with that aim in mind & has all the easy to build & easy to fly characteristics that the beginner needs. Whats more, the time between opening the box & being ready to fly is measured in minutes not hours! The computer designed structure has been optimised to give the best combination of stable performance, docile handling & durability. With extensive experience in designing complex EPO moulded models with carbon fibre re-inforcement & injection moulded plastic, ST Model have created a modern masterpiece in trainer design. Much of the structure is hidden deep inside but can be seen in strong light conditions as the EPO moulding becomes more transparent. For you, the owner, that is kind of unimportant as it is all pre-built inside. All you will be doing is the final assembly with a few screws. Just four will have the airframe assembled & then two small grub screws need tightening up on the elevator & rudder servo pushrods. Thats it!! When you are learning, the likelihood of a less than perfect landing has been thought about too. There is a heavy duty, sprung noseleg & tough aluminium undercarriage. That main undercarriage is screwed to a special plastic moulding incorporated, longitudinally inside the foam fuselage. The screws are designed to pull out rather than damaged the fuselage in a heavy arrival. The semi-symmetrical, tapered wing with anti tip-stall, curved wing tips will give all the correct characteristics in both calm & windy conditions plus a docile stall. The ailerons are responsive yet progressive without giving over-control to panic a learner. In fact, the same kind of progressive response comes from the elevator too. The rudder & nose wheel are connected for positive direction control on the ground & smooth response in the air. Thrust is courtesy of a powerful, outrunner style, brushless motor & a 30A brushless electronic speed controller (ESC). The propeller is an impact absorbing 10 x 5 that has been matched to the motor for high thrust & low current consumption. A 3 cell 2100m Ah Li-po battery (not supplied) will give over 10 minutes of flight time under normal training conditions. There is room to fit a bigger capacity battery too if you want & it will have very little effect on the centre of gravity & handling. We recommend the Intellect 3S 2100m Ah 20C battery.
