Two beautiful Mophead Hydrangeas which will explode with a profusion of magically-coloured rich pink flower heads all summer. The ' Magical’ series are abundantly flowering, compact, multi-stemmed Hydrangeas with wonderfully colourful flowers. Very easy to grow, these fully-hardy Hydrangeas thrive in moist soil in semi shade (or sun with shade during the hottest part of the day). They provide the perfect foil for perennials (particularly alliums) & annual bedding, & are equally at home in a pot on your patio or balcony & they’re wonderful cut flowers for vases or bouquets. Supplied as a pair of established plants in 14cm pots. Care Just plant in position, water well, & add some fertiliser
- they’ll burst into growth & flower profusely all summer! This plant is at its best in a most soil as long as it is well drained, in sun or partial shade. The more sun the plant gets, the better the flower colour. A moisture-loving plant, remember to water regularly & deeply. Hardy in the UK, frost can cause a lot of damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so it’s advisable to protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is likely. Pruning is generally best carried out early spring. A general tidy up is usually all that is needed & consists of removing the dead bloom from each stem, cutting back to the first strong, healthy pair of buds down from the faded flower. As Hydrangeas flower on the previous year's growth, cut out 1 or 2 of the oldest stems, in spring, at the base to encourage the production of new, replacement growth that will carry more flowers. Impressive in both size & strength, the large branches thrust upwards through mixed borders & erupt into bloom with sprays up to 40cm in length, standing proud against its neighbours. Perfect for cutting, the magnificent 40cm+ blooms make elegant cut flowers, & will last well into autumn if left on the plant to shine wondrously in the autumn frosts. Exceptionally hardy, Hercules stands up to the British weather with ease & will shrug off temperatures as low as -30°C plus it’s incredibly easy to grow, giving great results for any level of gardener & not even needing a massive garden
- they're just as happy in a container on a balcony or terrace. Supplied as an established plant in a 12cm pot, ready to plant out. H2m x W2m. Flowers July
- October. Care Just plant in position, water well, & add some fertiliser
- they’ll burst into growth & flower profusely all summer! Hardy in the UK, frost can cause a lot of damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so it’s advisable to protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is likely. As this hydrangea flowers on new wood, you can leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds begin to swell in spring – this also protects the new growth from frost damage. Just cut back the stems to a strong pair of buds. Remove any branches that are damaged or dead as well as any that are misplaced. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Once established, you can remove up to a third of the shoots to the base of the plant to encourage new stems. Contents 2 x Plant

Blooming for up to 6 months of the year, Hydrangea paniculata ' Polestar' is a delightful hydrangea that will change colour through the year. Unique in that it will grow to just 50cm tall, ' Polestar' is perfect for container growing so you don't even need a garden to appreciate its beautiful, colour-changing blooms. The delicate blooms emerge green-white & take on a pink hue as they age, becoming pinker as the seasons progress. Coming into flower from late May & lasting well into October the faded flowers can remain on the plant right through the winter bringing extended interest across the seasons. Easy to grow & hardy right down to -25°C, this is a hydrangea suitable for anyone to grow & it will even double as a houseplant for the spring
- just remember that ultimately it prefers to be outside. Supplied as a pair of established plants in 12cm pots, ready to plant out, growing to a height & spread of 50 cm (20 in). Care Planting advice for Hydrangea ' Polestar': Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting & mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole & use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place. Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly & allow to drain. Remove the plant from its pot & tease out a few of the roots. Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker. Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot & refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling). Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball & water well. Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc. If you're planting into pots, use the best compost you can buy & add some sand or grit for drainage & to weigh the pot down. Aftercare advice for your Hydrangea: Water regularly & apply a general-purpose feed every two weeks during the growing period. Pruning Advice for Hydrangea Paniculata: Prune hard in early spring to encourage flowering. Cut back the previous season's shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant. The Kitchen Bay, Laurus nobilis, is thought to have been first cultivated in the 17th century, & has been a herb garden essential ever since. These evergreen shrubs have aromatic leaves that are a culinary staple, bringing mouthwatering depth & a rich aroma to everything from soups, stews & curries to Bolognese & roasted or barbecued meats. They’re best when plucked fresh from the bush & simply added to the pot whole & left to infuse. Fresh leaves have a lighter, more floral flavour than dried leaves & can be kept in the fridge. If dried, they have a more intense flavour. They should be removed before serving unless they're ground or chopped. Bays are often grown in pots & respond well to training into topiary shapes. However, their lush, glossy & dense foliage makes them ideal for hedging & they make excellent structural features in formal gardens. They require little more than a light trim in early spring & summer to maintain the desired shape & will happily grow in sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. They’re also well suited to coastal locations. Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with complete confidence, to be enjoyed for many years to come. It is also recommended as a ‘ Plant for Pollinators’, attracting bees & butterflies with its small lime green spring flowers. Supplied as a pair of established plants, 80-100 cm tall in 20cm pots, growing to a height & spread of 10 m (33 ft) if left unpruned. Care Bay trees will grow in any well-drained soil in a sunny position, & thrive in containers, as long as they are kept well-watered. Use a soil-based compost, such as John Innes No. 2, with extra grit added to improve stability of the post & help drainage as bay roots dislike sitting in wet. Add controlled-release fertiliser granules to the pot or use a liquid feed every two weeks from mid-spring to late summer. Check plants & repot every two years in spring so that the soil does not become exhausted & stale. Bay can withstand temperatures down to at least -5°C, but frost & extremely cold winter winds can damage the foliage, so protect plants with fleece if temperatures are likely to fall below this. Similarly, pots can be wrapped in bubble wrap to protect them. Any damage caused by winter cold can be pruned out in the spring. Trim lightly in early spring & late summer to maintain you desired shape. Contents 2 x Plants ...

- Perfect for drinks & cooking. Lime
- this attractive green citrus produces characteristic green fruits & fragrant white blossom. Tolerant of temperatures down to 5°C, it will definitely need winter protection. Grown from cuttings, these Citrus plants are reliable & will produce fruit. How to grow: The sweetly-fragranced flowers appear all year round, especially in late winter, & fruit ripens up to 12 months later
- so plants are often in flower & fruiting at the same time. Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-Jun to late September, give plants a treat & transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine
- but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten. In summer, water freely
- ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount
- allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again. Always allow excess water to drain away. Overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side. Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots. Content: Pair of Lemon & Lime Citrus Trees
