The BEST Side View Nest Box Camera System available on the market today!View inside boxWe have taken our award winning Nest Box Camera System and added a unique twist by literally turning the traditional bird box design on its head….well almost!The SIDE VIEW BIRD BOX design offers garden birds a warm and secure place to raise their family but offers the viewer a unique side on view (including the entrance hole) rather than the traditional top down view. The camera, cabling and connections are mounted behind an opaque plastic panel fitted with a small slot for the camera lens to peep through into the nesting chamber. As the camera is mounted at the top of the sloping side wall, nesting material and mess is kept well away from the camera at the base of the box. This bird box camera
will provide colour images during daylight hours, there is also a built in microphone so you can hear as well as see what is going on. The birdbox is handmade by craftsman at our own workshops. We use only high grade Western Red Cedar (sourced from well managed forests) and follow guidelines suggested by the RSPB and British Trust for Ornithology (BTO). This bird box has a 32mm entrance hole and is suitable for a wide range of garden birds including:Blue TitsCoal TitsMarsh TitsGreat TitsHouse SparrowsYou may read in various publications that the entrance hole must be a particular size to attract a specific species of bird (eg. 25mm for Blue Tits etc). However, these are purely guidelines and our experience has shown (including consultation with the RSPB for supply of their
branded kit) that a 32mm hole will not deter Blue Tits, or any of the other small hole nesting garden birds. Using a 32mm hole can serve to maximise the chances of a pair of birds nesting in the box.The nest box has a small camera compartment to house the camera and connections. A quick release camera mounting bracket is also fitted to hold the camera in the optimum position.The Feeder Cam - What makes this camera system so versatile and different from anything else on the market today is that if a pair of birds do not nest in your birdbox, or it is no longer the nesting season, simply remove the front of the nest box, unclip the camera and pop it into the supplied Feeder Cam housing. Hang a bird feeder from the housing and you will now have close up footage of birds on your feeder and
a nest box that can still be used at a later date. A truly versatile system that can be used all year round. The Camera - All of our nest box cameras are manufactured to our own specification and exacting standards. The camera used in this kit is one of our standard resolution 420TVL (TV lines) CMOS type cameras with IR (infrared). This will produce good quality colour images during the day and black and white images at night. Infrared IR light is invisible to the human eye and to birds, so will not effect roosting or nesting birds in any way. This bird box camera also has a built in microphone so you can hear as well as see what is going on. The 3.6mm lens is pre-focused to the correct position but can easily be adjusted should you need to.The Rest Of The System - Consists of
professional x3 core cable (Audio/Video/12vDC) connected to the camera in the nest box at one end, whilst the other end of the cable needs to be routed into your property. The connectors are black, yellow and white. The black one is for power and connects to the supplied 12V DC mains power adaptor (looks like a mobile phone charger). The remaining yellow (video) and white (audio) connectors can either plug into a spare AV/AUX socket on your TV, video / DVD recorder, or a spare scart socket using the supplied scart adaptor.
