Alfred Vogel loved this age-old herbal remedy, which thrived in his native Switzerl&. In line with his principles of ensuring a thriving, sustainable source, A. Vogel's gardeners' painstaking research & organic cultivation identified a species of Hypericum high in active agents & resistant to disease, such as St John's Wort wilt, & so helped create the glorious fresh flower heads used in these tincture & tablets. Uses:
- Feeling low
- Feelings of unhappiness
- Nervousness
- Mild Anxiety This is one of the more well-known herbs in the Western world. It is said that the name St. John’s Wort came about because the plant begins to flower around St. John’s Tide – the summer solstice at the end of June. Indeed, the yellow flowers are easily recognisable & it is not uncommon to see cultivars of Hypericum in ornamental flower beds. Leaves of St. John’s Wort appear to be perforated (hence the name ‘perforatum’) & bear brightly spots containing a volatile oil. Flowers contain a series of black spots & when rubbed between the fingers, stain red. Ingredients: Tincture of organically grown fresh flower heads of St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum), extracted in alcohol (66% v/v).
