Alfred Vogel loved this age-old herbal remedy, which thrived in his native Switzerl&. In line with his principles of ensuring a thriving, sustainable source, A. Vogel's gardeners' painstaking research & organic cultivation identified a species of Hypericum high in active agents & resistant to disease, such as St John's Wort wilt, & so helped create the glorious fresh flower heads used in these tincture & tablets. Uses:
- Feeling low
- Feelings of unhappiness
- Nervousness
- Mild Anxiety This is one of the more well-known herbs in the Western world. It is said that the name St. John’s Wort came about because the plant begins to flower around St. John’s Tide – the summer solstice at the end of June. Indeed, the yellow flowers are easily recognisable & it is not uncommon to see cultivars of Hypericum in ornamental flower beds. Leaves of St. John’s Wort appear to be perforated (hence the name ‘perforatum’) & bear brightly spots containing a volatile oil. Flowers contain a series of black spots & when rubbed between the fingers, stain red. Ingredients: Tincture of organically grown fresh flower heads of St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum), extracted in alcohol (66% v/v). Directions for use: Adults: 20 drops in a little water twice daily. Chidren: This product is not recommended for children. Before taking this product: Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any prescribed medicines as St John's Wort may affect the way they work. Please seek medical advice if pregnant.

Alfred Vogel knew & wrote of the benefits of this popular herb, Sage (Salvia), whose leaves display beads of liquid in hot weather. This strongly scented herb is particularly popular with women. Sage is believed to rebalance the sweat-regulating mechanism in the brain which can be thrown out of balance by hormonal changes taking place during the menopause. Excessive sweating in women or men (eg. palms, feet) may also be corrected by Sage. In addition, Sage has a separate role in preventing sweating. The combination of these two actions makes Sage an excellent preparation to help with the hot flushes which often accompany the decline in hormonal levels at the time of the menopause. Sage has also been found to possess antibacterial properties & can be very beneficial for sore throats when used as a gargle. Ingredients: Tincture of organically grown fresh Salvia officinalis (Sage) leaves, extracted in alcohol (66% v/v). Directions for use: Adults: 15-20 drops in a little water 3 times daily. Maintenance: 15-20 drops in a little water once daily, Children: This product is not recommended for children. ...
