BATALe ON’S SHORT FAT BOARD FOR e NDLe SS FUN ON & OFF-PISTe Bataleon launched the Party Wave last season, & it instantly became a cult classic. Aimed at riders who are looking for that unique freeride performance that you only get with the new generation of short, wide boards, it very quickly established itself a reputation as one of the best performing examples of this game-changing category. Its rapid rise to stardom was in no small part due to the exploits of UK legend Tyler Chorlton & his series of elbow down carving videos. These little snippets of the Party Wave showed a level of performance on the piste that was nothing short of mind-blowing. Match that with the stunning short wide board float in the pow combined with the advanced Freeride 3 B Twith Side Kicks technology, & what you get is a genuinely remarkable snowboard that might just make you rethink your whole approach to freeride snowboarding. Rider Style Intermediate to pro level riders who are looking for a great fun snowboard that will make you rethink the whole riding experience. Shape Overview The Party Wave utilises a state of the art, wide platform tapered directional outline which swaps length for volume to deliver truly mind-blowing levels of lift & float. This powder inspired shape takes advantage of an advanced nose & tail profile, which not only gives excellent lift in powder but also helps drive the board both into & out of the turn. This delivers a level of performance on the piste that is nothing short of mind-blowing. Now, although that nose creates a lot of lift, it’s pretty compact. This allows the designers to create a long effective edge for such what is a short board. This ensures that when you’re blasting those groomers, it’s going to be as solid as a rock. Profile What was most impressive about the Party Wave was its stunning performance over the whole mountain, with this in mind Bataleon tweaked their innovative 3BT profile for 19/20, eschewing the original boards Pow 3BT for a more responsive Party Wave exclusive Freeride 3BT. This performance-oriented directional version of triple base features a narrow centre base with larger side base uplifts in the nose, giving unrivalled lift & float at the front. That larger & longer uplift also gives the board effortless edge to edge transition & drives the contact points into the snow. Now the shorter & lower uplift at the tail creates a more solid & reassuring feel in the back of the board allowing you to drive the board through the turn giving a stable & responsive carve. Combine this with the mellow camber & you get a board that is not only dynamic but also smooth & progressive. Side Kicks Side Kick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose & tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases float in powder & improves the handling of the board in rough terrain. Construction The Party Wave’s classic construction is headed up by the durable & responsive Core core. Combining poplar with beech stringers running tip to tail through the centre of the board, it delivers the perfect balance of control & response without being overly aggressive. Now to give the Party Wave its playful overall feel, the structural layers are formed from torsionally softer bi-ax glass. It’s this softer flex that makes this type of board so much fun to ride & the reason everyone should have one in their quiver. Base To deliver excellent performance across all snow conditions, the Party Wave utilises the durable Super Slick X Base. This high quality extruded base has the highest molecular weight of any extruded base on the market. That means it’s more robust & faster while remaining virtually maintenance free. THe HIGH Pe RFORMANCe ALL Te RRAIN CHARGe R WITH THe He ART OF A PUSSYCAT Over the years, the Push Up has earned itself an enviable reputation as being one of the very best mid-range all terrain snowboards out there. Its ability to seamlessly blend the riding characteristics of both freestyle & freeride boards into one versatile ride anything board has made it a firm favourite of riders of all ability levels. Well, not ones to stand still, Bataleon have redesigned & re-engineered the new Push Up for 2018/19. In comes an all-new shape, all new construction & all new 3rd generation 3BT base with Side Kick technology, taking the Push Up from being a great board to something that is a little bit special. So, if you're one of those riders that wants a board that can smash everything that the mountain can throw at you, but you still want something that's not going to be overly aggressive, then look no further. Rider Style Riders of all ability levels who are looking for a great performing board that can take on every type of terrain & every type of riding. Shape Overview The Push Up utilises an all new state of the art blunt tip & tail directional twin chassis. This versatile shape delivers a balanced overall feel, so when you're hitting the park, it gives you all the control that you could ever need. However, by slightly increasing the volume in the nose, Bataleon create a shape that gives great float in the pow & a stable & solid ride on the piste. Profile As with the rest of the Bataleon range, it's the unique Freestyle 3BT shape with sidekicks technology that sets the Push Up apart from its competitors. This advanced 3D base profile combined with overall traditional camber delivers truly stunning performance in all types of terrain. The Freestyle 3BT profile divides the base at the front & back of the board into three equally proportionate sections. The two side-base sections are then angled upwards with a medium height uplift to create the 3BT trademark profile. Combine this with the traditional camber, & you have a board that not only turns easier & with more stability, but you also get a board that floats better in pow as well as being more playful & forgiving. Side Kicks Side Kick increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose & tail, making turn initiation smoother, increasing float in powder & improving handling of the board in rough terrain. Construction Not only does the Push Up feature a new shape for 18/19, but it also utilises an all new construction. Heading this up is the new Light Core, combining an even mix of poplar & paulownia. It delivers the perfect balance of light weight, durability & playful performance. To this, Bataleon then adds their state of the art D.S.T (Dual Super Tube) Technology. This places two hollow carbon rods into milled out channels on the base of the core, stepping up pop through the length as well as powering up the camber for more snap & drive. Now to give the Push Up its trademark rider friendly feel the structural layers are formed from bi-ax glass. These create a torsionally softer flex which delivers that more progressive & compliant ride. However, the addition of carbon stringers between the bindings adds extra pop through the length without compromising that progressive feel. Base This high quality extruded base has the highest molecular weight of any extruded base on the market. That means it's tougher & faster while remaining virtually maintenance free.
