...BATALe ON’S SHORT FAT BOARD FOR e NDLe SS FUN ON & OFF-PISTethe 2021 Bataleon Party Wave has very quickly earned itself a reputation as being one of the most fun to ride snowboards on the market. Aimed squarely at riders who are looking for a board that combines outstanding float in the powder with class-leading performance on the piste; this state of the art genre-defining snowboard is designed to be ridden up to 10cm shorter than a traditional all-mountain board. Built around an advanced short/wide shape & featuring Bataleon’s unique Pow 3BT profile, the Party Wave breaks all the established norms of snowboard design & build. This not only delivers a ride that is nothing short of sensational in the pow, but one which is intoxicating on-piste & which will make you re-evaluate what & how you ride. Rider Style: Piste & Powder riders Intermediate to pro-level riders who are looking for a fun to ride snowboard that makes you rethink the whole riding experience. Shape Overview: Fully Directional (Short & Wide) The Party Wave utilises a state of the art, wide platform tapered directional chassis which swaps length for volume to deliver truly mind-blowing levels of lift & float. This powder inspired shape takes advantage of an advanced nose & tail profile, which not only gives that lift in powder but also helps drive the board both into & out of the turn. Now, although that nose creates lots of lift, in real terms it’s pretty compact. This allows the designers to create a long effective edge for what is such a short board, ensuring that when you’re blasting those groomers, it’s solid as a rock. It’s this combination of powder board float with stunning on-piste performance that makes this game-changing board such a hit. Profile: Freeride 3BT with Low Camber What is most impressive about the Party Wave is its stunning performance over the whole mountain. This is down to the combination of that advanced shape & Bataleon’s responsive Freeride 3BT with Sidekicks technology. This performance-oriented directional version of triple base features a narrow centre base with larger side base uplifts in the nose, giving unrivalled lift & float at the front. That larger & longer uplift also gives the board effortless edge to edge transition & drives the contact points into the snow. Now the shorter & lower uplift at the tail creates a more solid & reassuring feel in the back of the board, allowing you to drive the Party Wave through the turn giving a stable & responsive carve. Combine this with the mellow camber, & you get a board that is not only dynamic but also smooth & progressive. Side Kicks Side Kick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose & tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases float in powder & improves the handling of the board in rough terrain. Construction The Party Wave’s classic construction is headed up by the durable & responsive Core core. Combining poplar with beech stringers running tip to tail through the centre of the board, it delivers the perfect balance of control & response without being overly aggressive. Now to give the Party Wave its playful overall feel, the structural layers are formed from torsionally softer bi-ax glass. It’s this softer flex that makes this type of board so much fun to ride & the reason everyone should have one in their quiver. Base: Super Slick X Base (High Molecular extruded) To deliver excellent performance across all snow conditions, the Party Wave utilises the durable Super Slick X Base. This high quality extruded base has the highest molecular weight of any extruded base on the market. That means it’s more robust & faster while remaining virtually maintenance-free. Float Surface: 148 = 86 151 = 88 154 = 91 New for this season on all Bataleon Boards is the Float-Surface rating. This measurement is calculated via a complex equation that takes into account surface area, nose & tail profile & set back. This then gives you a rating on how the board lifts & floats in powder, giving you a real comparison between the new generation of short, wide board against a traditional snowboard. Float surface starts at 50 for the lowest-rated board & goes up to 96 for the highest-rated board
