With this experience you will get the opportunity to paddle both an open canoe & a kayak across the water. There is such a thrill in powering yourself along with a paddle in your hands. The kayaks & canoes used are very stable & designed for tuition so you are unlikely to fall out unless you try very hard! From this full day session you will be able to take on this sport in a more indepth way & if you really enjoy it, help you to progress on to BCU star awards. Following registration you will meet your instructor who will fit you with your equipment, including buoyancy aid, boat & paddle (spray decks are available for experienced paddlers). There will then be a full safety briefing & explanation in the use of the equipment before going onto the water. Then it is time to take to the water. You may also play some games to test your new skills. The minimum age is 14 years old. You must be reasonably fit & confident in the water. A medical declaration form must be completed before taking part. If under 18 this will need to be signed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. It is not necessary to be able to swim as buoyancy aids are worn by everyone. You must, however, inform your instructor if you are not a confident swimmer. Gwynedd
