Zalman have gone back to basics with the CNPS14X with the emphasis on function over style For a while every new CPU cooler Zalman released seemed to have a bolder & brighter design than the previous one. Now Zalman have released the CNPS14X but this time the emphasis is on function rather than style. The U-shape, dual heat sink is designed to maximize the dissipation area. The aerodynamically constructed double-induction heat sink also helps to increase the airflow & maximize cooling performance, while the 140mm PWM fan maintains low noise levels of only 17

- copper (CU) & aluminium/copper hybrid (ALCU). Both coolers are identical except that the CU version is heavier & offers better cooling thanks to the superior conduction of copper versus aluminium. In practice this equates to a lower CPU running temperature of around 3°C for a high-end system. If you crave the lowest possible CPU temperature then we suggest you purchase the CU version, but otherwise the ALCU version still offers excellent performance & is less expensive. Motherboard cooling As with all Zalman's 7000 series coolers, the unique design of the product allows not only the processor to be cooled, but also its surrounding components as shown on the image below. Important components such as the Northbridge chip, RAM, VGA & FET circuitry receive a good share of the cooler's airflow, which increases their reliability & lifespan. Compatibility considerations Socket 775-based motherboards will need to be removed from the chassis to be able to install the CNPS7500. Zalman FX100 Ultimate Fanless CPU Cooler Zalmans innovative new FX100 CPU cooler is designed to utilise natural convection where the heatsink passively transfers the heat to its surroundings. The hot air is then exhausted out of the chassis with the help of chassis fans or via natural convection through the top of a suitable case. Due to its passive & efficient operation, several factors that contribute to a shorter life span in electronics (such as vibration, dust, & heat) have a minimal impact, which makes the FX100 one of the most durable CPU cooler available on the market today.
