Now Zalman have released the CNPS14X but this time the emphasis is on function rather than style. The U-shape, dual heat sink is designed to maximize the dissipation area. - copper (CU) & aluminium/copper hybrid (ALCU). Both coolers are identical except that the CU version is heavier & offers better cooling thanks to the superior conduction of copper versus aluminium. In practice this equates to a lower CPU running temperature of around 3°C for a high-end system. If you crave the lowest possible CPU temperature then we suggest you purchase the CU version, but otherwise the ALCU version still offers excellent performance & is less expensive. Motherboard cooling As with all Zalman's 7000 series coolers, the unique design of the product allows not only the processor to be cooled, but also its surrounding components as shown on the image below. Important components such as the Northbridge chip, RAM, VGA & FET circuitry receive a good share of the cooler's airflow, which increases their reliability & lifespan. Compatibility considerations Socket 775-based motherboards will need to be removed from the chassis to be able to install the CNPS7500. Zalman FX100 Ultimate Fanless CPU Cooler Zalmans innovative new FX100 CPU cooler is designed to utilise natural convection where the heatsink passively transfers the heat to its surroundings. The hot air is then exhausted out of the chassis with the help of chassis fans or via natural convection through the top of a suitable case. Due to its passive & efficient operation, several factors that contribute to a shorter life span in electronics (such as vibration, dust, & heat) have a minimal impact, which makes the FX100 one of the most durable CPU cooler available on the market today. Features High performance fanless CPU cooler Black-pearl nickel plated Hexahedron heatsink Mirror-like base finish ZM-STG2M thermal paste supplied Optional 92mm fan can be installed Design: The FX100 comprises of ten nickel plated copper heat pipes as well as six separate aluminium fin stacks. Four of the heat pipes actually make direct contact with the baseplate, with two of these running up into the pair of internal fin stacks & the remaining two branching out to the four corners of the cube. The unique design of the fin stacks means that the FX100 can take full advantage of existing airflow inside your chassis from almost any direction.
