Specification. The DGS-1008D (Green Ethernet version) reacts when a device attached to it is turned off, by placing the corresponding port in a standby mode that requires less power. In addition, the switch is able to detect the Ethernet cable length & adjust power usage accordingly; hence saving any surplus power that would otherwise dissipate as heat. All ports support auto-negotiation of MDI/MDIX cross over. This eliminates the need for cross over cables or uplink ports. Any port can simply plug to a server, a hub or a switch, using the usual straight-through twisted-pair cable.

The DGS-1008P is equipped with Gigabit ports for faster speeds, & integrates D-Links Green Ethernet technology to save power when the switch is not in use. Its fanless design makes it completely silent so it is ideal for offices, libraries or meeting rooms. The first four ports of the DGS-1008P support the IEEE 802.3af Po E standard.
