Every organisation manages its risks, but not always in a way that is visible, repeatable & consistently applied to support decision making. The task of managing risk is to ensure that the organisation makes cost effective use of a risk process that has a series of well defined steps. The aim is to support better decision making through a good understanding of risks & their likely impact. Management of Risk (Mo R) provides new guidance of risk which can be used across an organisation. Within project & programme environments there will always be risks which need to be identified, analysed & managed. Other areas of an organisation at both strategic & operational levels will also be exposed to risks as operational & strategic functions are carried out.
This course will give delegates a broad knowledge of the use & techniques of the M_o_R (R) risk management method, as laid out in the Office of Government Commerce's (OGC) guide ' Management of Risk; Guidance for Practitioners'.
This course takes place over three days, including the M_o_R (R) Foundation examination. Delegates should be aware that considerable evening preparation & consolidation will be required by those that wish to pass the examination.
