With the ever increasing reliance on business-critical data, companies are taking steps to not only back up their data, but to ensure it's recoverability in the event of disaster. This three-day course on Disaster Recovery Manager (DRM), a feature of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition, will teach TSM admnistrators how to create & use the Disaster Recovery Plan file to help them recover their TSM server & their client data after a disaster or outage. The hands-on labs include exercises on how to back up the necessary server files, the TSM database, & storage pools for off-site storage. Students will then create a customized Disaster Recovery Plan file which they will then use as they restore their IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server & client data, at the client level & at the storage pool level. Students will also use server-to-server communications to back up the Disaster Recovery Plan file to remote virtual volumes for off-site electronic vaulting & learn the essentials of Disaster Recovery media management. Lecture will also cover the possibilities available for Bare Machine Recovery.
