Overview
Portfolio management is an essential discipline for understanding & governing all of the projects & change initiatives across the organisation, providing a mechanism for controlling & prioritising this discretionary spend. The end result is a plan of all initiatives that the organisation has to complete to achieve its strategic objectives, prioritised based on their contribution to these objectives, the availability of resources & the amount of change that each department or function can manage at any one time.
This event is a highly participative workshop, where learners have an opportunity to apply portfolio management to specially created organisational situations, using this as a basis for defining how they will apply portfolio management in their organisations.
The material for this event is based upon the best practice approach defined in the Office of Government Commerce publication ' Management of Portfolios'.
