CORRECTS LOW TOTAL ALKALINITY. Fi-Clor Alkalinity Increaser (Bicarbonate) is for raising the total alkalinity level in swimming pool water. Alkalinity is a measure of the amount of alkali (or in chemical terms, bicarbonates & carbonates) in the water. If the alkalinity is too low, any chemicals added to the pool will directly affect the p H, causing rapid fluctuations in p H readings. Alkalinity at the correct level will help protect, or 'buffer' the p H. Instructions > Take an alkalinity reading on your test kit. You will need to raise the total alkalinity if the reading is below 100mg/l (ppm) for pools sanitised with stabilised chlorines or bromine, or below 80mg/l (ppm) for pools sanitised with Fi-Clor Superfast or Supercapsules. > Pre-dissolve the Fi-Clor Alkalinity Increaser in pool water using a suitable container. In order to avoid concentrated solutions, only dissolve a maximum of 500g of the product in 10 litres of water at a time, adding product to water, never water to product. Dose no more than a total of 1.5kg in a day. > With the circulation system running, distribute evenly around the pool, avoiding the skimmers. > Continue filtration & re-test after 24 hours. If the total alkalinity is still low, repeat the dose. ...

CORRECTS LOW CALCIUM HARDNESS. Fi-Clor Hardness Increaser is for raising the calcium hardness level in swimming pool water. Calcium hardness is the amount of dissolved calcium & magnesium in pool water. If there is insufficient dissolved calcium, the water will try & take it from the grouting & concrete in the pool. High levels are not a major cause for concern provided the p H & alkalinity are within recommended parameters, but the reading should be kept below 1000mg/l (ppm) if possible. Instructions > Take a calcium hardness reading using your test kit. You will need to correct the calcium hardness if the reading is below 175mg/l (ppm) for liner pools, & below 250mg/l (ppm) for tiled pools. > With the circulation system running, sprinkle the product directly into the water around the perimeter of the pool. Do not pre-dissolve as this could generate excessive heat. Only use when bathing has ceased, & avoid areas near the skimmers. > Re-test after 24 hours. If the calcium hardness level is still below 175mg/l (ppm) for liner pools, & 250mg/l (ppm) for tiled pools, repeat the dose. ...

Product Description

Suitable for all types of sand filtration. Compatible with all pool santisers.

There can be a number of small particles present in suspension in pool water that are too fine to be retained by the sand filter alone. These can make pool water hazy. Use of Clarifier Tablets will coagulate the particles into a size which can be retained by the filter. Using these clarifier tablets will also improve the efficiency of your filter. Use in cases of high turbidity, after shock dosing or after a backwash, & for weekly maintenance.

CAUTION: Do not use this product with diatomite or cartridge filtration systems.
