This pattern, from the Liberty archive is called 'poet's meadow'. Evoking the world of 19th century romantic poetry, it is an exquisite, highly detailed floral study with musk roses, violets, eglantine, columbine, convolvulus, cornflower and more. A radiant, pure Liberty art piece in predominately light tones: soft yellows, coral, pink, electric blues and translucent violet. The poet strides through this natural abundance inspired to even greater heights of lyrical expression! Three button cuff in my tailored, intelligent regular fit - easy, confident wearability for all men. A beautiful thing that I am delighted to welcome to my Spring/Summer 2020 collection
Part of Liberty's 'Aesthetic Renaissance' collection which celebrates the life and vision of the company's founder Arthur Lasenby Liberty. One of the original merchant adventurers Arthur Liberty introduced the fascinating, exotic design ideas he had encountered to the emerging aesthetic movement, of which Liberty became a central pillar. Supplementing the inspiration found in far flung locales are designs which derive from Arthur Liberty's love of the English countryside into which he escaped upon leaving the buzz of the London store. The sunflower was the symbol of the aesthetic movement. This highly stylised design exults in the symmetry and complexity of the glorious flowers - in full bloom or moving towards the seed cluster stage. Parts of the drawing move towards a regular, mandala-like abstraction, playing on labyrinthine ideas suggested by the natural inner structures. An inspired, bold and exuberant piece by Liberty. Three button cuff, classic collar. Intelligent, tailored regular fit

This design 'Walter' is reminiscent of bold, decorative ceramic tiles of the early 20th century. A stylised sunflower repeats in a sumptuous, but restrained palette of vivid blue tones with orange and yellow ochre accents interspersed. A breathtakingly confident, joyous design classic. 'Primavera' is a soft, luminous watercolour study of some of the mountain flowers Arthur and Emma Louise encountered on a trip to the Basque region of Spain in 1897. Pure Liberty, the design is painted in a careful but confident hand, expressing a sense of animated, burgeoning life. The palette is delicate, but highly varied from rich yellow-gold to the palest possible lilac. A limpid, delightful piece. Superior definition in tone and detail is made possible by the fine cotton used. The shirt has a three button cuff, classic collar and intelligent, tailored, regular fit
